  1. Regrettably true. Do have to wonder if the early extension messed with his mind and he is self pressuring to the point of failure ? That presumes he has enough intelligence to realize it.
  2. Here's a different take--- 11-2 lead, a W just waiting for him, and he needs 105 pitches to get 1 out in the 6th and leaves giving up 3 run jack. Assclown
  3. Bello is an enigma. He gets 2 straight starts against weak teams but can't handle the job in a straightforward manner. Big time strikeout record with 10 straight K's for outs , interspersed with walks and hits, but no more clue as to how to pitch than a raw rookie in A ball. maybe he is quite rich now, but exceedingly ignorant about how to improve his work. He may be uncoachable in the sense that he can't transfer the knowledge from a side session to the mound. he certainly , at this stage. is no reliable guy to run out there against top opponents. Not much of a Bello fan here
  4. There's no guarantees but it is mathematically possible.
  5. Interesting we just can't get that 6th game locked in. Maybe because we only have 4 starting pitchers plus Winckowski.
  6. October 16, 2004, Yankees beat the red Sox 19-8 to take a 3-0 lead in the ALCS . Pretty bleak for Sox fans until you recall that the Yankees never won another game that year, but the Sox took their first World Series since Babe Ruth's early career.
  7. But it's all part of the process , lol. Certainly can't blame the FO for not securing better throwers.
  8. You would have to get way too close for JH to hit you
  9. When was the last time Reese hit a ball hard ?? Also the Yankee 14 runs have come on pitches called by McGuire, so there's that
  10. If Boston needs some BP before the next game, I can only suggest that Anderson be called to serve up a few meatballs
  11. The overcooked bullpen gives the game to the Yankees. nice work AAAA'ers. ( that's a tribute to you, Max !)
  12. Rafaela probably missed the read on that shot. Weissert is still not the answer to any question, and Cora needs to learn, you cannot run Bernandino back out for a second go round. Other than that, this one will be won by whoever scores last
  13. Alex Verdugo is an immature embarrassment to baseball and it was a gratifying to see Raffy show him up big time.
  14. Devers gets the ball out on ol' King Cole and clearly gives Dugo the effective finger heading into 3rd base
  15. Abreu has developed a nice loop in his swing that makes it almost impossible to hit a middle-middle FB. He needs help
  16. A team of Destiny, lol. Don't play the game until the 9th, still win. Hope the Yankees postgame meal did not feature sushi
  17. I do agree Rafaela has a pretty flawed approach at bat, but sometimes gets good outcomes. Like Dom Smith, who I secretly admire for staying awake
  18. Kenley is incapable of a clean inning, forget the ghost runner. But he cooks the Judge's goose
  19. Abreu is messed up right now. Needs some work
  20. This will be an amazing one if the guys hang on to this lead. Congrats to Rafaela on his 10th
  21. Yoshida stresses our stressed bullpen by going deep. Fun to watch Holmes choke it out
  22. It is called Neverland, which is where Smith should be. And Hamilton should always start over Valdez
  23. Rookies are still rookies. Duran was equally disappointing and he's not a rookie. O'Neill could not get a big hit because it would lead to RBI's, a meaningless random occurrence stat
  24. Devers does his part chasing Cortes , who makes him look like a fool
  25. Max, It seems that Sox pitchers have fallen into a groove that when things get a little bit away from them, it all goes haywire and they have trouble adjusting. Not just the DP error, but as you point out, poor control by Houck set it up while Cortes cruised beffore and after the rain delay
