  1. Trout went fishing for that one. Nice escape by Houck. And Dugo's arm reputation in RF.
  2. SOX playing from behind? How rare is that?
  3. The Rays keep a rollin' and why not. They're #1 in every major offensive category except for runs and BA, in which they're closely 2nd to Texas. Oh, and their pitching and defense are pretty good, also.
  4. "If you wanna find the truth in life, don't let numbers pass you by." Apologies to Eric Burdon.
  5. Here are the W/L records of the 5 teams whose ERA's are worse than the SOX: White Sox-19-30 Colorado---19-28 Cincinatti--19-27 KC---------14-34 Oakland---10-38 The 24th ranked team in ERA is the Mets at 4.68.
  6. The 5.01 isn't the team's average ERA. It's Sale's ERA, which is the lowest of the SOX starters, not counting Paxton, who's only pitched 11 innings. Btw, the SOX team ERA is at 4.81, which is the 6th worst in MLB.
  7. Watching Dodgers/Braves game and noticed LA has a rookie OF named James Outman. He's hit 9 HR's and has a OPS of .852, so he's not an automatic out, man.
  8. You're correct. This is his 1st start.
  9. When it comes to the arts and entertainment, for me it's NYC, Boston, Chicago, LA and San Francisco. All the rest are 'fly over.'
  10. Well, if MR MOJO RISIN' slurred it, then it must be true. Hell, he even foresaw his own death on his 1st album.
  11. This is crazy for a team that's playing 5 games over .500, plus having played the toughest schedule in MLB. Going into the 1st 3rd of the season, Sale has the lowest ERA of all qualifying starters for the SOX. His ERA is 5.01. Paxton hasn't pitched enough innings to qualify. I seriously doubt any SOX team in my lifetime at this point in the season had a starter who lead the team with a 5.01 ERA.
  12. Turner has had success against Barria in the past.
  13. I'm doing well; hope you are too. For the most part the SOX have been fun to watch so far this season.
  14. On the partially good news front the SOX will 'only' have to face Ohtani as a hitter and not as a pitcher in this series.
  15. On MAY 18th at the age of 87 the greatest running back, imho, in NFL history died. Jim Brown played his college ball in my hometown at Syracuse University. He also played lacrosse at SU and is considered by many the greatest lacrosse player of all time. He actually loved lacrosse more than football, but there was no professional leagues at the time so he went to the NFL. Unreal that 60 years earlier on the same date(5/18/63) another awesome SU football running back died of leukemia at the age of 23. A true tragedy. His name was Ernie Davis. If Davis had lived, he would have been playing in the same backfield as Brown in the following fall. Btw, Ernie Davis was the first Black football player to win the Heisman Trophy. I'll always remember how pissed off Brown was when Franco Harris broke Brown's rushing record. He called Franco a coward because of Harris's propensity to run out of bounds instead of running over a defensive back like Brown used to do. Anyway, RIP to the greatest of them all.
  16. Houck vs Barria Another battle of 2 RH's. Let's win another series. Go SOX!
  17. I'm a SOX fan, so, obviously, I want Casas to succeed. Just like I'd hoped Dalbec would be successful. So let's agree to agree.
  18. Btw, congrats to Max. Nice 4 game run.
  19. Not reveling. Just stating what I believe is true. Your 'truth' may differ.
  20. I didn't say it was a done deal. I simply stated what I've seen to this point. I also said that patience is a virtue.
  21. Of course, the SOX have been known to pick up players whose best years are behind them. We saw one today. But, at least, the SOX didn't give Kluber 250 mil for 10 years.
  22. After accumulating 6 runs against the SOX two worst pitchers in 3 innings, the Padres returned to the overpaid weak hitting team that they were starting the game. I certainly hope they don't make the PO's.
  23. I know patience is a virtue, but Casas has all the makings of one of those AAAA players.
