  1. Leaving Fenway to play ball in a circus tent that's inside a mausoleum is a real downer. I think that describes the whole state.
  2. Yeah, usually there have to be runners on base to drive them in. I'm glad you were aware of that. Actually, I'm surprised you were aware of that.
  3. Also, Story isn't too bad on the defensive side of the ball.
  4. Imho, Story is a 4 tool player. His one tool missing is hitting for high average. He qualifies everywhere else.
  5. When it comes to Bogey, I believe the length of his contract may be more difficult to negotiate than his annual salary.
  6. The benefit of keeping Bogey and Devers is they've already proven they can play at a high-level in Boston. Replacing Bogey to save a few million dollars is a big risk, which we all know backfires too much here.
  7. True. And if the SOX do re-sign Bogey, I believe they have enough current offense where there should be no need to go out and sign a replacement DH. So there's extra money to be used on pitching.
  8. I disagree. Story drives in runs. The biggest impediment is Sale's contract. But, again, not having Price's retained salary next season does give the SOX FO 16 mil to play with.
  9. However, the SOX will not have at least 16 mil in retained salaries nest season. So that would in effect increase the SOX total PR by @17 mil next season.
  10. If the SOX re-sign Bogey at 30/mil/year and extend Devers at 35mil/year, it will increase their current season payroll by @ 33 mil.
  11. Hopefully he'll be a big improvement in hitting the ball, also.
  12. Well, he can't make a better case of late to be re-signed.
  13. If Bogey was any hotter, he wouldn't be allowed near any gas stations.
  14. Based on the history of the SOX farm system in developing starting pitching, just having a promising guy like Bello is a minor miracle.
  15. When one looks at the Rangers' won/lost record and then notices how good their offense is, they're a perfect example that pitching is a lot more than just 50% of the game.
  16. One major way to improve a BP is for starters to go more than 5 innings more often. This was a numerous fault of the SOX this season. And, yes, injuries had a lot to do with that.
  17. I guess the BIG question is does Whitlock make the SOX better by remaining a reliever or becoming a starter next season?
  18. A Franchy homer leading to you doing 10 shots would make Franchy an enabler.
  19. I would put Pham in between 'Good' and 'Great.'
  20. Dalbec was optioned back to WOO. Kutter has been placed on 15 day IL. Winck has been brought up.
