  1. The way we're crushing the ball right now, I don't think that we get too tempted to bunt.
  2. Cashner is a big dude. Maybe he can give us 8 innings. What a boost that would be. Pitching to match the booming bats.
  3. Welcome to the real Boston Redsox.
  4. Of course, the N.L has 6 pitchers with an ERA of under 3.0 and three under 2.36. Ryu at 1.76. Morton leads the AL with 2.6. (4 pitchers under 3 ear)
  5. Tanaka is kind alike S. Wright when he was pitching well--shut down or a bust.
  6. I'm wondering: are Japanese pitchers looked upon as machines? Why is Tanaka still pitching??
  7. Rick headed for win #9. I think this leads the staff, but I'm too tired to look it up.
  8. Bad, but all considerably better than Rick---Who, however just pitched a nice comeback inning
  9. Not much of a break for Rick. Time for a couple deep breaths and not much more.
  10. 97 pitches thrown in 1.5 innings. it does seem a bit like London.
  11. On the radio broadcast, it's like wall-to-wall ads. "This trip to the mound (by the catcher) is brought to you by Vinny's Pizza..." "The nest pitch is the 44th of the game... Jim's Oyster Bar will pay blah blah if... " And then the 2-3 minutes in between innings which long time ago was 1 minute. long games you say
  12. Both of his outings have been neither that bad or that good. I suspect he'll be more valuable to us down the line.
  13. Holt would actually make a good lead-off hitter.
  14. Yeah, this would be a BAD LOSS given what's ahead of us. Not inspiring to fans or players.
  15. [quote=YastrzemskI;1268072 ..... Meanwhile he strikes out Bogart on high heat. This guy’s got good command. I'm glad to hear someone has "good command" because my brain/body has anything but this. Jeez, it's stifling weather and I'm bumbling and stumbling.
  16. Have hope. Baltimore never wins a game before the ninth inning.
  17. Ace? How about as good as anyone else on the staff...maybe. Which makes his a half-ace.
  18. No on two counts. 1) It's the totally lost season once again 2) It's 97 degrees with a high dew point, which makes it over 100.
  19. The Giants are rising, so BumG might not be available---saving him for the World Series. Stroman would take a lot to get since every contender is interested. I think he's on a one year contract. I'm not sure what his contract situation is next year?? That would factor into the value of the trade players. I'd love to see him here... but the cost.
  20. It's pitching or bust.
  21. This is why we need to fully focus on getting pitching... the lineup is not the problem. I'll bet we lead the majors (top 3 at least) for team batting ave.
  22. Does anybody actually live on 42nd St.? I hope it's air-conditioned.
  23. And the humidity adds to the distance.
  24. maybe you should, anyway, given the trade deadline is upon us.
