  1. You're completely misinterpreting my comment. I went back and read what I wrote and you know what? I blame myself, I worded it wrong and would like to reiterate and clarify if that's ok. A guy can get traded at any time. When he's in the shower, at home, asleep, eating lunch, taking batting practice etc etc etc. During this time of year when we see trades happen during a game we usually see the guy get up in the clubhouse and hug everyone....its why we call it "hug watch". I don't think it's reasonable for a G.M. to have his eyes glued to where every single player is at every moment while they're working the phones with other G.M.s Bloom likely had no idea Vaz was about to be interviewed, IDK maybe he did, maybe he intended to inform him and someone was on their way down to talk to him but it was too late. It was unfortunate, but that's the business of baseball. Trades happen when they happen. I don't think the Sox did anything malicous.
  2. People's past does not always define their future. Yes, these guys had incidents, but do we really know if they're bad clubhouse guys now? Also, as you said, morale was already low, and the season was lost. Where are the Sox out of it? not completely, but there was a very realistic chance of this club making the world series and virtually none of winning it all. So, why not audition these guys? and if nothing else.....you have to fill the roster out.
  3. Watch out clouds....
  4. How is that contradictory? like the Sox planned for him to have it broken during the interview? what happened was an anomaly....oh ok... it happens 99% of the time not 100......that's not the point. The Sox didn't do anything wrong.
  5. I can't believe the Sox who are down. Chris Sale Macha Wacha Matt Barnes (ok he fell apart) Tyler Danish Trevor Story Rafael Devers Kike Hernandez and has underperformance from 1/2 the other guys. are not spending all their assets to go for it. Imagine you're playing poker, and you're the guy who goes all in with a s*** hand. You go home early and broke. We can talk about what went wrong and how competent Bloom is all day long, but if you didn't see the writing on the wall and are all hot and bothered because the Sox sold off expiring contracts then you're just living in la la land.
  6. He might actually make a pretty good platoon with Duran/Verdugo next year or even this year going down the stretch. They got him for next to nothing. You say GOG, I say old men yelling at clouds.....semantics.
  7. Players don't get up-to-date reports on trade talks involving them, what happened with Vaz was not out of the ordinary, it literally happens every time. This is being perceived differently for two reasons, first off I think the news was broken to him by the news reporter where normally they find out in the clubhouse without the cameras immediately on them. Secondly, there are people who dislike Bloom. To each their own, fans have the right to cheer and root for their team as they see fit, it's a free country so hate Bloom all you want but that's a two-way street so I feel inclined to call people yelling at him for doing what everyone else does as being a baby. You're being babies. In other news. Old men yell at clouds.
  8. The Sox didn’t do Vaz dirty.
  9. Teams don’t pull guys until trades are a done deal. They don’t make them take the uniform off and stay away from the team. That doesn’t happen, if the trade was a done deal he wouldn’t be with the team. What are you talking about, I’m going by your OC which isn’t what happens in baseball. It just stinks of old man yelling at cloud.
  10. Was it? If the deal was done he wouldn’t be playing for the Sox. What they did was very ordinary
  11. Yup, but hey so is JBJs bat in the lineup
  12. Mancini was just traded to Houston.
  13. Ok….but why would Mancini make sense RIGHT NOW? I think if the Sox were in serious contention, he makes all the sense in the world.
  14. Relief pitchers are always a crapshoot, besides the best of the best. Robles was acquired for Schraffts who is currently laying eggs in AA. Robles was also pretty good for the Sox down the stretch last year including the playoffs. He served his purpose……perhaps a little too long.
  15. The other teams who are already much better than us are also getting better. The season is lost, time to build for next year. I’d be fine if the Sox were buyers if they would go after players with multiple years of control. That’s fine, but this is not the year to be buying rentals.
  16. Why would we trade for a rental 1B in a year we have almost no shot of winning the WS? Why waste assets that could be spent plugging holes at SP and OF? especially with Casas coming to town. Mancini would be the ideal move if the Sox had a much better July.
  17. Valdez is #12 on BAs list. Definitely the better prospect of the deal.
  18. Maybe Phem goes to LF, they try Verdugo back in Center, and the team dumps JBJ next. As horrible as JBJ is someone would give something for a replacement CF for the PS, even if it’s just eating some of the money.
  19. I fully expect the Red Sox to fix things and turn the team around next year. We can argue all day in what that entails. Firing bloom? Trusting blooms process? Whatever. But if you’re upset at selling off expiring contracts then you’d have been the people who died on the titanic. Wake up and smell the coffee.
  20. He’s also a FA at years end and the team isn’t going anywhere this year so who cares? You can always sign him back, or even upgrade the position and sign Wilson Contreras in the off-season.
  21. Someone has to DH and back up the outfield when the trade JDM
  22. It’s insane what this guy will complain about. I’m convinced if JDM was out of the lineup he’d be all hot and bothered by that saying that he should be on display to increase his trade value. Some people just like to complain, or maybe cry who knows. I suspect his keyboard is lubricated with salty tears.
  23. What’s your point? Oh yeah you dont have one, you just throw insults in place of making an actual point. Surprise surprise!!!!
  24. Lol, so is it standard to display trade assets or have them ride the bench? What do other GMs do? I didn’t ask what armchair GM Stork would do but rather what other MLB general managers do? I’ll wait…..
  25. He’s not defending the trade, he’s merely pointing out that Hunter Renfroe on this team doesn’t change its reality that they’re flawed and not a playoff team right now. You keep on changing the argument to fit your little temper tantrum. We get it, bloom make bad trade
