  1. I'm not sure if that bodes well or bad for Dalbec.
  2. Yeah, I think it's easy enough to DFA Ort, but if you need two spaces opened up then I think they have to move a Dalbec or a Duran.
  3. If you need to make a roster spot for a guy like Tapia because he gets a MLB offer from another club over the next 10 days AND he's still raking. You easily option a guy like Dalbec if it's needed. That's just one reason why I think it's very likely Bobby Dalbec starts the season in AAA. But, a lot can happen between now and then.
  4. He has an upward mobility clause, I believe if he isn't added to the 26 man he can be asked to be released.
  5. I think they are both on the 26 man to start the season. At this point you have to give Tapia a chance unless he completely falls off a cliff he makes this team.
  6. Yeah, it's spring training, I don't really care. It certainly gives one pause though.
  7. Batters have to get used to the timing too, I'm not that worried.
  8. This is probably not a huge issue but one thing about Sox players being at the WBC is they're not getting experience with the new pitch clock, it will be interesting to see if any of those guys take longer to adjust once the season starts.
  9. What Steve Cohen is doing this year is something we've never seen before. It almost really makes one want to see the Mets lose.
  10. I think he would have to step up his game to get selected.
  11. Well that’s the thing, DD totally pulled a dick move, and the most likely outcome after Song returning to Boston is screwing up his development.
  12. I don’t think it would have taken the SD deal to retain Bogey, but by even last offseason I think it was too late to get him under MV. He would have wanted what he perceived his market value to be. I think he would have been asking for 200/8. If they want to retain guys like Bogey, they need to lock them up younger without opt outs E.G. Devers.
  13. Perhaps, but where he is hurting is what should concer them. That’s usually a precursor to major surgery. If not this season maybe next. We’ve also seen guys pitch a year injured and suck before getting the surgery the need. I don’t like rooting for guys to get hurt, I really don’t, I’m sure Rodon is a nice guy that doesn’t deserve that BUT I wouldn’t complain about the Yankees wasting their money.
  14. I dismiss ST results, or at least 80% of them. The first couple weeks I dismiss them 100% Guys are going through the motions, ramping up, and trying new things. Hey I’m one of the biggest homers in here. I could be using these ST results to defend the moves the FO has made to build this team. But I’m…..consistent?
  15. At some point in 2023? I thought he figured to be back by June? did I miss something, now it's "maybe"????
  16. Good thing we didn't sign Rodon
  17. I mean, if anything, this gives more merit to your first sentence.
  18. If Song gets into games this year, after a full year of playing ball, I think it could be better assessed whether he's worthy of being protected or not. I suspect, because of his career trajectory, the only way Boston is able to hold onto a guy like Song would be to move him to the bullpen and try to fast-track him to the majors. Hoping, he regains a lot this year and is ready at some point next year. This of course, is contingent upon a LOT of things.
  19. I believe DD has 14 days after opening day to add Song to the 40-man. I doubt he would return him before then.
  20. It’s actually a pretty darn good comp, which is why I brought it up to Red. The results were….predictable.
  21. Dude was about as Elite as JBJ had ever been in 2021 out in CF. It passes the eye test, my young mans 20/20 eyes.
  22. Not saying much? do even ever check what's what before you comment. Duval is a plus defender on the corners and when healthy a 30/100 guy, which by all accounts he is healthy and fully recovered from his wrist injury. It's almost like there's something that may be making you biased against Duval. He's a potential 30/100 guy who plays plus defense on the corners. That's a guy who starts on most teams, let alone rides the bench. The only knock on Duval right now is the fact he's playing out of position, but that ain't his fault.
  23. No but he's on the team now, and he'd be a massive upgrade over what they have on the bench, and his positional versatility is valuable and may be needed by the time Story comes back. What are the odds that one of Turner/Devers/Casas/Verdugo/Yoshida either gets hurt or is tremendously struggling?
  24. In a perfect world Duvall is not in CF, but I think if healthy he can have an extremely Hunter Renfroe esq season at the plate. I suppose in a perfect world Story and Mondesi are healthy and Push Kike back to CF allowing Duvall to play in an LF/RF/3B/1B/DH role.
  25. Duval is an MLB vet who has proven he can hit when healthy, I'm unconcerned with how he looks after 1 week of spring training games.
