  1. I’m not going to argue semantics with him, in the spirit of the argument he brought up a good point that I agree with. Bloom has made good deals, bloom has made bad deals. But of all his good deals none of them have been great, and some of the bad ones have been really bad. The only constantly good thing happening in the Bloom era is (at first glance at least) the drafting. Which after the first pick probably has little to nothing to do with Bloom
  2. Give him time, he’s a rookie LHB facing a tough LHP. He hasn’t even had a half a season of at bats yet. I think Casas will be fine. His approach is elite, he’s going to figure it out eventually.
  3. He also made some adjustments that seem to be taken well. Let him have a little sustained success and sharpen it up. I suspect we will see plenty of him this year
  4. I’m assuming people who actually work in the MLB and don’t post on forums aren’t freaking out over two weeks of stats. These guys aren’t going to bat .100 all year. There’s going to be regression to the mean.
  5. Starting Duran in AAA was the right decision.
  6. There was a poster in this board who said we should put winc in the bullpen last year and his stuff would take off. Can’t remember who it was, but many said he just sucked. Because you know..he stunk as a starter so why would he be better in the pen, what’s the difference. Ahh, who was it! Damn! I wish I could remember
  7. But Reese is clearly not the problem. And he comes with multiple years of control where CV was a pending free agent at the end of the year. Hypothetically he could have been resigned and McGuire could be backing him up. Of all the criticisms of Blooms, the most fair (after bad top FA signings) an abundant one is return on his trades. His good ones have been just ok, and most of them have either been bust or not looking good. So far, this looks like one of the good ones. I don’t think it’s fair to complain about Reese who’s actually playing well (I think his defense is going to be even better than early on this year as it had been). But hey, to each their own. I get the frustration is real with this team.
  8. Think I missed the joke. Last time I checked McGuire is a good catcher who’s had been good offensively since he’s been here. Why not complain about one of the actual black holes in the lineup. Reese is not a problem.
  9. Yes god forbid he sees a therapist and starts hitting .391 Last time I checked, a higher batting average is generally a good thing
  10. I don’t think the budget matters in this instance. henry cares more about resetting the cap every 2-3 years rather than a total number. The Sox could have signed Senga and stayed under cap. Take Klubber contract out and you have the flexibility to add this season on top of that.
  11. I don’t like that, because I still think Yoshida is going to hit. I just think they should have gone after Senga too. They had the money to do it, they could have still had almost the same exact offseason. +Senga -Kluber and you’re still under cap
  12. But there’s plenty of them that were good for at least 4-5 years before their production fell off. I think not chasing Senga was a big mistake
  13. Oh I don’t know, everyone haha.
  14. Kluber is fine, he knows how to pitch. Plenty of guys lose velocity and reinvent themselves. The problem with Kluber, is expecting him to be anything more than a middle of the rotation starter at this point in his career. Sox signed a #3 #4 guy when they already had a rotation of those types but no ace.
  15. I had a huge crush on Senga. That was the guy I wanted the Sox to sign.
  16. Everyone knows you can’t dive for a baseball in left field and right field. It’s only allowed in centerfield.
  17. I’d go 50% Henry (buck stops at the top) any percentage you can assign to anything else ultimately comes down to Henry e.g. he hired and retains Bloom 30% system wide (minors and majors) coaching and scouting. They’ve failed to turn out minor league talent into big leaguers more often in recent years and the pitching….needs no explanation. 15% Bloom - needs no explanation 5% players - they are what they are which is why it’s so low but they need some part of the blame pie as they’re ultimately the ones who win/lose games.
  18. If the Sox thought Ceddanne was close to being ready they'd have started him in AAA. He needs serious work with the bat, the Sox aren't messing up his development. Unless it's the end of the year. If it's late August and the Sox really need a body and improved D then you don't waste a lot by brining him up with the minor league season close to over. But at this point I wouldn't be 100% surprised if we don't see him in the majors at all this year.
  19. P.S. your notion is 100% absurd. All the money Bloom had cleared out was expiring contracts or high-arb guys. There isn't one example where they've signed a guy of Dever's caliber and then turned around and traded him immediately within less than 1 year. The closest I can come to that is Agon, which is a different era, different president, and different gm. I get Bloom has done much to welcome in critique, and I get that some fans are more upset than others. But if you're going to take that hate and just make nonsensical arguments based on nothing then others are going to call you out on it. So I'll ask you again, shall we bet on this?
  20. I the coaching needs more of the share pie, or at least Henry indirectly for not doing more to fix it. We are on about two decades of bad returns and almost ZERO ability to draft and develop pitchers.
  21. - So, you're not willing to bet on it.
  22. Especially seeing how Bloom let go every back up SS on the 40 man this off-season too. At least those guys can field the position. Maybe Bobby can prove he can be an emergency back up middle infielder but that’s it. If he’s playing every day for 2-4 weeks then this team is either garbage or he really starts raking. I suppose it wouldn’t be the weirdest thing to ever happen if both came to pass.
  23. I don’t know wanna bet on it? I’d be willing to be a lot he’s not on any other teams 40 man outside of Boston come opening day 2024
  24. Exactly, because if you have a healthy Story at 2nd, and Andrus at SS, you just put Kike in CF.
