  1. What if Devers performs 3X better than Durbin for the next several years but Durbin averages 2 WAR and Harrison never makes another MLB start/appearance. Is that a good trade?
  2. Thats actually a cheap contract for the value he produces. How much is a good utility player worth? $6 million isn’t even 1 war
  3. The other candidate would be top prospect Bryce Eldridge, who is expected to be a monster with the bat......but plays 1B for a reason. One will play 1B, one will DH. It's kind of ironic.......Raffy is going into SF spring training and it's unclear whether he will play 1B or DH.
  4. Who is going to play 1B for the Giants this year then?
  5. Wouldn't it also be fair to point out that Raffy is doing it all while playing 1b too???
  6. I think he might platoon and get a lot of at bats when Mayer sits vs. LHP. BTW....Where is Moon. I owe him an apology on this one.
  7. Can we please stop with the Devers talk, it's essentially rehashing the Devers trade when this is something entirely different. That trade is over, it's been over, whatever we did or did not get is a sunk cost. This trade should be evaluated on the players involved and them alone. That is a honest accounting.
  8. Lets see all the people complaining about giving up Kyle Harrison now. If you're not complaining about giving him up now, I don't want to see you bitching if Milwaukee turns him into a stud.
  9. yeah, he could if he wants to pay the price of admission.
  10. https://prospectsavant.com/player/807713 His milb numbers look much better. He was a newbie, he's young. I'd be much more concerned if it continues.
  11. I mean, I get it, but is that worth having a black hole in the infield?
  12. That's pretty close in value, a slight underpay according to BTV. But I wouldn't hate that.
  13. For years we always heard and regurgitated the Mantra "we can trade hitting for pitching, we can trade hitting for pitching" And I believed in that. So shouldn't it also be true that we can trade pitching for hitting? If it takes one of Tolle/Early to get a solid infielder then so be it. We will still have one of those guys + Harrison, Crawford, Bennett, Witherspoon, Valera, Phillips, Eyanson + The pitching in the organization will be fine, go out and get a guy. The big league club desperately needs it.
  14. I really really like Early a lot, but if the Sox open the season with IKF as the starting 2nd baseman it' comes to light that Sox were unwilling to give up Early.....he better turn into a solid #2 or higher.
  15. I mean.....trying to F**K your bosses wife is going to get you fired from most places.
  16. If Rodgers was signed to be the starting 2Bman, why didn't they sign him to a MLB contract?
  17. $6 million is bench bat money, Rogers is playing in AAA.
  18. You seem like a cool dude Drewski. i love your take on Christmas present giving πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  19. Is this in the apple store?
  20. If they all hit their ceilings that would be rather unprecedented, but it is fun to dream.
  21. That A+ rotation looks like a future A+ rotation. Now, lots can happen with young pitchers but lots of upside there.
  22. It's all the internet. These types of moves never really got reported on back in the 90's but they happened. Today, everything is front and center and in your face with how quickly information spreads with Twitter, the internet, etc. So people see that story posted about the Sox adding a guy in the minor league rule 5 that years ago they never even would have heard of. I mean, I get it, but it's a little frustrating to see people undermine such moves. You have to field a minor league roster. Franklin Arias has to throw the ball to someone at 1B down in Portland, Payton Tolle has to pitch the ball to someone in AAA, etc etc etc. Someone might call them suspects, but we all know that some of those "suspects" are going to bloom into studs.....and I think it's important to have good people around them while these kids are developing. I just never get worked up over such moves. IKF is fair game, because at this point we just don't know what he is. Starting second baseman? or infield utility guy?
  23. I wonder if people would look at this deal differently if the Sox signed or traded for a better 2B first and then signed IKF? If he was perceived as the utility type that he should be (hopefully is) then it's actually a great signing.
  24. I think if you acquire Paredes you gotta bring that grade up to an A- Sure, I can see a B for the offense alone, but they aced the pitching staff this offseason. They drastically improved their defense at 1B and Contreras is an offensive weapon (albeit, not Schwarber) and IKF drastically improves the defense as a backup SS/2B/3B player. But if he's your starting 2B the offense has the capacity to look very ugly. If more goes wrong than right you're easily a bottom 1/3 for runs scored in all of MLB.
