  1. Actually the tennis racket might have helped. Meanwhile, the Sox have docked him two days pay and they are giving the money to some gay organization. It's a crazy world out there.
  2. He has played in every game this year. The two games off might do him some good.
  3. The fan provoked it. He told Duran that he needed a tennis racket to hit. Jarren was just giving him the street response. The street response is not approved for polite society like Fenway Park. Lol
  4. I think the Sox like the marketing potential of the so-called " Big 3". They promoted them as a group to AAA.
  5. Is there some kind of camp where they can send him for reeducation ?
  6. I tried to compute Criswell's fWAR , but I just could not figure it out. Too complicated. But just from watching, he seems to be better than most of these jabronis.
  7. Maybe the WWE could bring back The Rock.
  8. Lol. He is an All Star leadoff hitter, so that has to be taken into consideration. He will definitely get much less than 30 games. Now if say, Will Middlebrooks was caught on an open mike saying the same thing, it would be the end of his announcing career. It's all a matter of your importance to the organization. Life can be so unfair. And, Steph Curry, great Olympics by the way. Congratulations.
  9. The Sox record is 61-55. Exactly what it was at this point last year. It seems that they are better this year, but the record doesn't show it. However, I think there is still a feeling that they will finish stronger this year. Is it realistic?
  10. The Royals are upstarts who will probably stumble down the stretch. The West runner-up could be more of a problem for the wild card.
  11. The Sox management and Duran have already issued the standard statement/ apology.
  12. The video is showing up all over the place by now.
  13. People have gotten fired or cancelled for just repeating what someone said.
  14. It was picked up on the NESN mike. I won't say it here because I would probably get booted. Let's just say it wasn't exactly a celebration of Pride Month.
  15. Did anyone hear what Jarren Duran yelled to a heckler at Fenway today ?
  16. Mood swings are common with baseball fans. They range from gleeful to despair with each game. Sometimes each inning. Staying on an even keel is not something baseball fans are known for. And that's okay. Not a problem. All a part of the game. Hopefully, the players don't fall into that.
  17. I think what might help is getting Liam Hendriks back for the stretch run. He is battle-tested and , more importantly, a fresh arm at a time when there are so many tired arms around MLB.
  18. Just more of the same old spin from the Legion of Bloom. The plain truth is that Bloom traded Mookie Betts. Dombrowski did not. Feel free to make up your own scenario. But it doesn't change the facts.
  19. Of course spending doesn't guarantee winning. But it certainly helps. Are you really going to argue that it doesn't ?
  20. The big lie is blaming Dombrowski for the Betts trade. Mookie was under contract through the 2020 season. Bloom traded Mookie. That is the reality.
  21. As stated before, the fangraphs odds of getting a wild card is something that is useless and should be ignored. It changes like the weather. Conceding a spot to either the Orioles or Yankees, that leaves four teams fighting for two spots. The teams that get hot down the stretch will be the ones who make it. The Sox have as good a chance as the others. Maybe even a little better chance. That being said, I am not thrilled to just be in contention for the gimmicky third wild card. The goal should always be to beat the Yankees and win the Division. Nothing less.
  22. Shouldn't have any trouble scoring runs off this jabroni.
  23. The Sox offense is hitting on all cylinders right now. They are a threat to score in almost every inning. A real handful to every pitcher they face. Don't fret about them being too left-handed either. The game of baseball is very favorable to left hand hitters.
  24. The same people who worried about Dever's approach are now complaining about Rafaela's approach. The same people who had no faith in Duran now are concerned about Rafaela. But they don't realize that the sheer athleticism of these guys is what drives this team. It is an entirely different team than what we have seen the last few years. Don't tinker with it.
