  1. Mookie returned to the Dodger lineup last night. He promptly homered and led them to victory. By the way, Mookie is not without his quirks. He stayed at an Airbnb instead of the team hotel in Milwaukee because he thinks the hotel is haunted.
  2. Chris Sale had a series of injuries. Tommy John being the big one. Some of the others were kind of fluky. He showed signs of getting healthy last year. I think the Sox could have been more patient with him, especially given the state of their pitching staff. He is a special talent. Martin Perez should not be mentioned in the same breath as Sale.
  3. Good. From my experience, much of Sox Nation would not be so even handed.
  4. Well, what he did on Post #90 was kind of soft pedal what Jarren did. And that's okay. Duran is our guy. But Hugh did not address my point about what if it was Judge who did it. Instead, he gave an odd response.
  5. " Literally". Okay. I understand.
  6. Any comment on the actual subject matter ?
  7. And as with everything, there is some hypocrisy. Red Sox Nation would be much more outraged had it been Aaron Judge who did it. A two game suspension would not calm the waters. Of course, Judge is a classier kind of guy and he would not do it. Verdugo maybe.
  8. Crawford has kind of a unique short-arm delivery. It could be that hitters are starting to figure it out. I do think there are a lot of tired arms in MLB these days. And I think the pitch clock is at least somewhat to blame.
  9. F-Bombs, in all forms, are thrown very frequently these days. Even by girls who take "young lady" as an insult and prefer to be thought of as a " badass". Society is always changing, usually for the better, but sometimes not. Personal and derogatory insults are never acceptable.
  10. Polite- No. Relatively common- Yes.
  11. I guess we just have to keep up with the ever-changing ground rules.
  12. Just on general principle, you don't trade a Chris Sale for a Vaughn Grissom. It angers the baseball Gods.
  13. Everything else aside, when you work for a company, it is usually not a good idea to insult their paying customers. That being said, Duran will get past this, all will be forgiven, and he has the potential to be one of the best all-around players in the game.
  14. That's the one.
  15. Red, I don't know what his problem is, but I just don't want to spend the time for all the back and forth. He will go on all day and night, then come back the next day and start up again. It never ends. This is not that important to me.
  16. Cancel you ? What in the world are you talking about ? Do me a favor. Don't even respond to me anymore.
  17. Best to knock this off right here. Not going down this road again.
  18. Houck tested negative. A healthy young athlete. Some leader in Canada would not let him enter. Not Tanner's fault at all.
  19. Human nature. We tend to excuse, or soft pedal things said or done by people we like but condemn those same things said by people we don't like. A footnote: Since Duran was technically suspended by the Red Sox, they are allowed to replace him on the roster. If he was suspended by MLB, they would not be allowed to replace him. Just more silliness from the folks at MLB.
  20. A small clip from the interview. Reporter: " Jarren, have you heard anything from MLB or the Red Sox organization yet" ? Duran: " About what" ? Lol. Too funny.
  21. Davey came within an inch of being picked off by Mariano. How would that have changed Red Sox history ?
  22. He was forced to apologize, for sure. But you would think they would have told him to change the shirt. Before yesterday's game , Duran was presented with the Red Sox " Heart and Hustle" award, which recognizes the player with a passion for the game and best embodies it's values, spirit and traditions. You really can't make this stuff up.
  23. Duran gave a press interview apologizing for his actions. Said he let his fans down. And he was wearing a T-Shirt that said " f*** em" across the chest. Lol.
  24. In 2007 Crisp was a good defender. Not much offense. Hit .268 , with six homers and a .712 OPS. Not that much of a factor in the team's success. Ellsbury came up late and provided the spark.
