  1. Harm , I'm not sure. Hopefully, E-Rod and Sale are back. Eovaldi and Houck. Maybe sign someone other than Perez. Even a top of the line guy if they are willing to pay. Maybe make Hernandez a starter. Actually, I would rather use an opener and bullpen game than keep some jabroni like Perez as a number 5 starter.
  2. Perez is a career ham and egger . He is not going to get any better at this point. You really don't want him in your rotation , even for minimum wage.
  3. Slight edge to Cora in career OPS. Cora has managed a championship team , but Alex did not major in statistics at Stanford . So , advantage Fuld for that . I guess it's a toss up . But the guys down at Clancy's all think it will be Cora. So, I'm sticking with that.
  4. Okay Harm , Fuld never could hit a lick , but I guess he is a thinker. I'll stick with Cora.
  5. My bookie still says Cora is a lock. I have to say that I am impressed with Sam Fuld . " Director of integrative baseball performance " sounds really important . Much better than bench coach. Although I have no idea what it actually is .
  6. Maybe they are trying to set up a deal where they have a day for him at Fenway, when there are fans in the park. Give him a nice sendoff. Something like that. Meanwhile , this is not causing any real roster issues.
  7. LaRussa loves animals. Maybe more than he loves people . Sometimes, that is understandable. Anyway, no problem. Have a nice day.
  8. I was ready to take responsibility for flunking algebra. But thanks. It was all the fault of the darn principal. I like that better.
  9. Suit yourself , jad. I know it is hard for you to resist. I'm not getting involved . We have seen what happens when someone starts this stuff.
  10. Really ? Is this necessary?
  11. We started the clean up by getting rid of the life of the party.
  12. Okay . Forget all of the charity work he does. The sports bar alone gives him a lifetime pass with me.
  13. I don't know if the traded prospects will develop into stars . Perhaps they will . Perhaps not. I do know that we got a lot of thrills , a lot of excitement and a lot of winning in the meantime. I do believe it was well worth it.
  14. You would have to check with Kimmi or Moon about the classroom situation. I wouldn't know. I flunked algebra. But it wasn't the teacher's fault.
  15. Starting the 2019 season , these same folks were saying that we have almost the same team back , and things were looking good for a repeat. I guess they forgot about that.
  16. Perez is nothing much . He looked good only in comparison to the other jabronis on the staff. Let him go.
  17. Bobby Valentine is another guy who is a convenient target. He took over a bad situation in Boston. He was brought in ostensibly to instill some discipline to a team that had gotten a bit out of hand , but when he tried to do so he received no backing . And when the team struggled , they unloaded ( and rightly so ) some of the top players. The team predictably tanked completely. Bobby V. was the wrong fit at the wrong time. They would have been better off keeping Tito. But Valentine knew how to manage. He was highly respected in Japan . And he managed the 2000 Mets to the N.L. pennant and a World Series vs. the Yankees. Also , he is truly one of the good guys in sports . Currently the Athletic Director at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, where he is setting up a Jackie Robinson scholarship. It might be time for folks to get off his case.
  18. La Russa has always related well to the players. The young ChiSox , who have yet to proves themselves , should listen to and respect a senior manager who has three rings , four manager of the year awards and is in the Hall of Fame . If they don't, shame on them and their parents.
  19. So , the bar is set pretty high for La Russa . He has to not only win the division , but the "crap shoot" that is the post season as well. Even then , the G.M. gets the credit. The White Sox have some potential , but they are not exactly the 2020 Dodgers or the 2018 Red Sox. Not even close. How many managers are held to that standard ?
  20. My local bookmaker, Paul ( Needlenose) Minagge has Cora as the odds on favorite for the Sox skipper job. He says that those other jabronis are just being interviewed to show some " due diligence " , whatever that is. The announcement is imminent.
  21. Mariano was , without a doubt, the greatest closer in history. He certainly was a big factor in the Yankees success. But I don't think the Sox did too badly with Foulke, Papelbon, Koji and Kimbrel. And a defensive replacement for Billy Buck might have been a good idea too.
  22. One thing is certain. Should the Pale Hose win the A.L. Central next season , there will be those who give all the credit to the deposed Rick Renteria. That's how these things work.
  23. Tony La Russa is a four time manager of the year. He has four World Series rings. He has managed six All Star Teams. He is in the Hall of Fame. He is bilingual. But I guess he is just too old to manage in today's complicated , analytics driven game. They should look for a younger person. A Gabe Kapler type, maybe. Yeah, that would be better.
  24. That is exactly what we need. A 32 year old utility infielder from jabroniville .
