We gave up a future Hall of Famer . And with that virtually any chance of re-signing him . I do hope that our 3 " future major leaguers " give us some value. I may not make any sense to you , but I really hate finishing in the A.L. East basement. That makes no sense to me.

I think Baseball Trade Values is just another of those sites where a couple of pencil neck geeks sit around playing with their computer. But it can be a fun pastime for the wannabe G.M.s out there . Just don't take it too seriously .

I would think that the Dodgers having Mookie on board , enhanced their chances of re - signing him. What we got back is okay , but in no way comparable to Betts.

True . Jansen shows an alarming drop in velocity . His fastball was 88 or 89 . Dave Roberts needs to think about it . I don't think Joe Kelly is the answer. Maybe Treinen.

Stages of frustration and desperation : Blame the manager. Every move he makes backfires . He needs to go. Blame the umps . Those incompetent umps are killing us . Robot umps now. The truth : The Rays are outplaying the Yanks , as they have all year. It is sometimes hard to face reality.

The Yank's starting pitching is not very deep anyway. Happ is not all that good , and Deivi Garcia is very much overrated .

Shortly after the cheering stopped in November of 2018 , John Henry started grumbling about spending too much and losing money on the team. That was the writing on the wall . Today , Mookie is happy , rich , loving L.A. and thinking about getting fitted for another ring . We are watching the playoffs from a distance , and crunching payroll numbers to see if we can afford to bring back Kevin Pillar . What a difference two years makes.

It is kind of stupid . MLB owners spend money lavishly on some areas , then go cheap on the minor leaguers . MLB needs the minors . Unlike the NFL and NBA , not too many players come out of college ready for the big show.

Yankee fans , much like the Yankee manager , become confused at times.

Cora cheated. He got caught . He paid the penalty . It was a one year suspension . He did not get , nor did he deserve , a lifetime ban. He has every right to manage again . That should not be an issue . I do think he would be a good choice to guide the current group of Red Sox. Go for it Bloom.

The Dodgers have a pretty good lead off hitter. And they have the look of a juggernaut . ( Kind of like the Sox of 2018 ) Anyone else going all the way this year would be a decided upset.

Cora , by all accounts , did a great job in 2018. He had what was possibly the best , most complete Sox team ever assembled. But he managed them well and never missed a beat . In 2019 , he had largely the same crew back . However it was minus the closer and one of the top set up men . There were essentially no replacements for them . Then a couple of injuries and some underachievement from the starting rotation , and trouble was brewing . He never seemed to find the answers to this . All in all , he had one great year and one not so good year . Personally , I would like to see him come back in 2021 . I think he would be a good choice to guide this current group . I'm pretty sure if the Sox don't hire him , someone else will .

The Marlins have arms like Sandy Alcantara and Sixto Sanchez . Not exactly household names , but they can bring the heat and can dominate a game . The Dominican seems to turn out these kind of pitchers with regularity . Also , I don't care for the idea that a division winner has to play a best two out three falls wild card series . Doesn't seem right.

Much like the UZR workers, the movie reviewers don't simply watch the movies and decide what they think of them the way you and I do . They study the films scientifically with an advanced computerized system . They skip the popcorn and take notice of all the little details . When they issue their ratings , they are not to be disputed .
