  1. 50 games (or about), for Betts next year to a team that will probably lose him. Don't think you'll get a haul, maybe a teams 3rd or 4th best Prospect, definitely wont get best Pitching Prospect. Pitching is so precious today, these GM's Know it.
  2. Wonder what JBJ and Boras want on a extension? He thinks he's getting big bucks he's crazy, as a FA. Wonder if you offer 3 for 27 would he go for it.
  3. Rangers win and we lose only half game ahead of them. But we will have 1 more loss then them.
  4. Rays won. So Sox have to win to stay 5.5 games behind, and 6 in loss column.
  5. Rays about to win, so more pressure tonight on the Sox.
  6. At this moment we have 2 teams with 6 less losses, pretty hard for 2 teams to start to struggle, and we have no control of it. We have to win, and they have to lose, for 2 teams.
  7. What Fans don't realize is counting today we play 11 more straight games without day off. That's brutal, when pitching is day to day, and failing. I feel that will put the final nail in the Coffin.
  8. What people don't know is up to 2018, he was not a walk machine. He threw strikes. That tells me he is capable of throwing strikes consistently, but he might have changed something recently. He's only 22 years old, sort of expect, a little inconsistency. But what you can take away is the strong arm, that can walk the bases full, then strike out next 3. He does not give up HRS, that always good trait for a Closer. Got nothing to lose at this point, unless their is another Play-off spot I'm not aware of.
  9. Mookie has to be signed now, he's now a Rental. You'll wont get what everybody here expects. A flock of Prospects. Team Trading for him will cost them money to keep him. You wont get a Teams best Pitching Prospects because of this. Sox had to move him before July 31st, to pry the best Pitching Prospects. Maybe a real stupid team, but I doubt it. All Trades for me now, will be the purpose of getting good young Talent in the Farm for Pitching. Our Farm needs a shot in the Arm for Pitching.
  10. Also I would do 2 things now, I would move Dalbec to 1st at Pawtucket, he'll never beat out Devers. 2nd I would say screw it I would make Hernandez my closer. I want to see him now. Eovaldi back to Rotation. They will help out next year, that's the important thing. If not, at least you'll know he's not the Closer we need.
  11. Agree. I follow the Minor Leagues for years, and I have a pretty good idea, how other teams talent stack up to ours. Funny thing, when DD left the Tigers, that Minor League system was worse then ours especially in Pitching, now they are a Top 5 in Pitching talent in the Minors. Sure they have been Drafting early, because team stinks, but they hit when they Draft. Good Scouting. That's the secret to getting good young talent.
  12. We got rid of some good Prospects, yes, but what we didn't realize is we had squat behind them. That ranking at that time was off when we had Moncada, Benni, and Pitcher we sent to Chicago. Our Farm hasn't developed a Pitcher in years. I'm talking a Clemens like Pitcher. Positional Players were OK, not great but OK. Pitching, Jackson is right were many years behind. To keep competitive Henry will have to spend, for Pitching. That's OK, but you have to put all your resources to develop, while you are paying Free Agents. Dodgers are the best at this.
  13. Rays game all tied up. Cant lose this game.
  14. Another nice pitched game by Denyi Reyes, 7 innings, 5 hits, 1 Run, 1 BB, 3 K's. ERA down to 3.63, after terrible start.
  15. 3 curveballs in a row to a Hitter like Maybin, so he can slow his bat down.
  16. Terrible game calling.
  17. Rays just took the lead.
  18. Got a hit in his first at bat. Ockimey struck out behind him. That ought to be interesting putting those 2 back-to back. Lot of K's.
  19. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/boston-red-sox-bobby-dalbec-promoted-to-pawtucket/c-309674138
  20. Dalbec promoted to Pawtucket. Lets see how he does after he hit .234 in Double AA. Last night he had 3 K's. in final game, for Portland. 2nd half of season Dalbec is hitting .225, with a .758 OPS in last 41 games. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=666915#/splits/R/hitting/2019/MINORS
  21. Sox got to take the 2nd game, if they lose and Rays win its 6 in the loss column. Now you really got to worry.
  22. Sox are now 8-22 in NY in the last 30 games. So its just not this year.
