  1. Damon,1 Ellsbury 2 JD Drew 1 Betts 1 Who else? Trying to think of Pitcher. Folke 1 Paplebon 2 Who else?
  2. Dombrowski OUT! Notin IN!
  3. You don't need to pay for elite talent, you need to develop it. FA's kills teams. And they very rarely live up to their contracts. Good smart Ballplayers, that do their jobs, will win you a lot of games. Don't need big bucks for that, just good evaluations from Baseball People.
  4. Agree.
  5. Free Agent deals should be for no more then 1 year. That's it. Those are the best, usually the Player has to be proving themselves. Good enough. And if they are doing good, easier to deal them if Sox are out of it. Use them to start building the Farm. Stay away from ANYTHING more then 3 years. Personally I wouldn't go over anything for more then 2 years. Those are really the best.
  6. Been saying for a while, since Dombrowski left the Tigers, they have done a wonderful job at finding talent. When he left, they were a mess. If I were Henry, I would can all Our Scouts and Head of Scouting. Get some real Baseball people and PAY them. I remember the first move Cherrington did when he got hired was fire Craig Shipley. He was huge in getting us Bogaerts, http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/70655530/international-scouts-craig-shipley-and-mike-lord-discovered-red-sox-xander-bogaerts-in-aruba Its been down hill since.
  7. I'll wait for Official Minor League site, for final Rankings. But thanks. Beginning of season Astros were ranked #7. This is at beginning of year. For under 21 Talent. https://www.milb.com/milb/news/farm-system-rankings-21-and-under-talent/c-304402418 What's eye opening is the Sox do not have a TOP 30 International Prospect. Who Scouts for the Sox? Yanks have the #1 Prospect and #18.
  8. Answer me this. Did you think this was a 100+ win team? At least 98? I can see 10 less, then last year, but not this. That was what I expected. Don't matter what other teams did, basically the same team that won 108 last year, coming back.
  9. Last year we had our Ace out basically from July to the Post-Season, 2 Catchers that didn't hit, 3rd baseman that struggled Offensively and Defensively, a Relief Pitcher from Japan, an erratic Reliever (Kelly), a CF that hit .234. Basically a worse team then this year, and we 108 games. Luck? No it was attitude, and never say die. Ever. This year they thought it would be a cakewalk, and thought they could turn it on any time. Don't work that way.
  10. Except for Marco, hasn't played enough, that makes this year even more of a failure.
  11. Aware of that, but you cant go from one extreme to another. Very easy 20 games difference. So now I have to think more about last year was it a fluke, happens just hot for 1 year and go back to about what you should really be. Basically same players, not that bad in injuries. Compare to the Yanks. Seems they had the attitude we had last year, next man up. So what is it?
  12. Whole team took step backward, be hard pressed to win 88 games. That's a 20 game difference from last year. Team and Fans thought it would be a cake walk. I'm one of those Fans too. 16 in the loss column to the Yanks. Talk about Beatdown. Yanks won 100 last year and they will win 100+ again this year, that's consistency.
  13. Dodgers are one of the most Mentality tough teams I have seen this year, They just grind, they are different team then last year mentally. Yanks face them in a few weeks, that ought o be a good series. I have them as the favorite, for me at least. They impressed me here. Yesterday they just kept coming back in the game I saw.
  14. Lot of good stuff said this morning.
  15. Wonder what happen if today was the Trade deadline? Just 4 days later. They have been late on everything this year as far as evaluating this team.
  16. Yanks got to be careful too. Lose only 6.5 ahead of Rays. At least it makes it interesting.
  17. I deal with numbers for my job, last 40 years, I don't care about Launch Angle and Exit Velocity. Only numbers I care about is the score, and number of Suds I'll be having.
  18. I'm not going to get down totally on Ockimey, he wasn't always that bad with RISP, probably just a bad year. There was a lot of pressure on him this year to perform. If he isn't protected on the Rule 5, and he returns, I would give him another chance. He is relatively young at 24 in Oct. He has the Power, just got to be a better all around hitter. Got to make more contact, and cut down on his K's. Hopefully he makes the adjustments. Hope he finishes strong.
  19. Anybody watch the Pawsox today? Announcers had some good stuff on Players. Dalbec looked better at 3rd today then when I saw him, much better footwork, he has the arm, no doubt. 3 K's today though. Your Boy Ockimey hit a HR, and was the DH, again. You know he leads the Pawsox with Men Left on Base? 5th in the International League.
  20. So you think the Sox Protect Ockimey in the Rule 5 Draft? And take a chance on losing maybe another that they might need? They didn't last year.
  21. Teams are valuing their Prospects now more then ever. Houston with all they gave up, still has a strong Minor League, system. One of the Top 5 still.
  22. You wont get a Teams Top Pitching Prospect for a Rental, and that's what we need. Especially a Positional Player. When teams give up Top Pitching Prospects its because your usually sending them a Pitcher too, a very good Pitcher.
