  1. Who is crying? I never said it was unfair the Yanks lost, and you're the one bringing up history. All because you didn't like what I said about Bloom. I'm sure he'll do better next year 😏
  2. I wasn't alive yet. They also finished with the same record in 78, whereas last year the Dodgers finished with 106 wins yet had a one game playoff with the 90 win Cardinals.
  3. I understand the single game playoff from an entertainment perspective. Heck I even tuned in to watch all of the NL wild card games because who doesn't love a winner takes all game? But from a competitive standpoint it didn't really make sense to have a grueling 162 game season and then have the team with potentially the 2nd best record play one game to determine if they would make the real playoffs. That would be like having a 12 round boxing match, and then at the end they're like "whoever lands the next punch first wins".
  4. You red sox fans always living in the past 😉
  5. I do like the job Bloom has done for you guys so far though, hope he keeps it up 🤣
  6. I'd can Boone either way. His decision making and approach are questionable at best. GM I'm not sold that the Yanks would be better without Cashman. As evidenced by most teams failures it's not easy to find a good GM and I think overall Cashman makes more good than bad moves. The roster has been good enough to win in many of these years but they just haven't done it. Change for the sake of change doesn't usually work out.
  7. I wasn't planning on paying attention this week since I locked up the #1 seed, but I guess I'll make sure to start everyone just to give ortiz a shot.
  8. Division 1 reminds me of the AL Central
  9. Only two weeks left of the fantasy regular season, and only one playoff spot remaining. I can't tell if this season has flown by or dragged on.
  10. Montas has looked pretty terrible, but I'm not ready to say he's the next Sonny Gray. If he still looks like dogshit in September then I might change my mind.
  11. Just wait until Harrison Bader can walk again, then the trade will really pay off!
  12. The Jays have been sucking just as much as the Yanks, I wonder who will suck less this series
  13. Or you can look at it as the Yankees getting their s***** play out of their system at the right time
  14. At least you have 2023 to look forward to with the Sox, they might even be able to finish 4th in the division.
  15. Now is the time to re-extend him, while his value is low
  16. He had already cooled off (3 for his last 16, only 1 HR in his last 13 games after 14 in the previous 34 games) so it's not as huge a loss as it would seem. Stanton will be an upgrade at DH when he returns (hopefully by this weekend). But the 2 months he put together during his time can't be undone, and what a 2 months it was: .305/.412/.727 (OPS of 1.138, 2.3 WAR, 216 wRC) with 15 HRs and 37 RBIs over 154 PAs. Pretty good for random pickup.
  17. Nope, the app and season are going swimmingly for me
  18. Forgot there was a day game today, guess that was a good thing... I don't think there's any "ace" that gets lit up as often as Cole.
  19. I get why though. He has a hard time staying healthy for an extended period of time, and with the Yankees' command of the division the priority should be making sure he's ready for the playoffs.
  20. This would have made sense if they were following it up with a trade for Rodon or Syndergaard. But I don't see any follow up trade and the deadline has passed, so my question is why? They traded pretty much all of the starters in the minors who could be depth for this season (Waldichuk, Wesneski, Sears), and then traded away their 5th best starter so that now German will be forced to start for the rest of the season. If someone goes down then who gets called up? Maybe this is part of a bigger picture that I can't see, but it's definitely befuddling.
  21. Only took Boston 104 games to get a first baseman.
  22. Seems weird to me that the Dodgers would want him, considering that Gallo is a headcase and the LA market is just as big as NY
  23. Probably an overpay by the Yanks, but they really needed bullpen help so it makes sense.
