  1. Moon, isn't it time for Part II?
  2. Nice to hear Contreras say he has no interest in waiving his 'no-trade' clause. He loves Boston. He loves not catching. He loves hitting in Fenway. He maybe our long term solution at the DH spot. Everyone else seems to want to get the hay out of dodge.
  3. We still have 17 games before the August 3rd trade deadline. Plenty of time to figure out. We have 4 against the Rays, 3 against the Orioles, 3 against the Jays, 4 against the Athletics and 3 versus the Dodgers. 17 games with 1 off day. It will really test our pitching staff. That's games in 6 days, one off day and then 10 games in 10 days. I can't see us parting with any pitchers unless we go something like 3-8 after we return.
  4. July 12 Game thread Score 2 runs in top of 9th. Chapman shuts down the Mets in the bottom half. We score a run, and Whitlock earns his save in the 10th. Three up three down. We will jump a game ahead of the Astros. Still half game down to Seattle and Twins. (I think)
  5. I'd say we're doing pretty good considering almost $100M of contracts are not on the field (well I've added Yoshida just because) Ugh Crochet, Story, Yoshida, Bello, Campbell, and Anthony.
  6. Hopefully that will be the landscape with our pitching staff in 2027
  7. Sometimes he hedges his bets too much and there's hardly any movement with the team. At least at the trade deadlines.
  8. One never knows how well Early, Tolle and Bennett will continue as a starting pitcher but we are looking good for 2027 season. We need our boy wonder Anthony to come back and play left field, find a full time DH (right handed power bat 25-30 HR) and a second basement. Strengthen the bull pen.
  9. Moon is it time to revisit Ketel Marte trade? Gives us no brainer 2B for at least 4 years. He's as a sure thing as it gets, no?
  10. It does appear that Breslow guys that were signed/traded have outperformed the guys traded away to date, thanks in part to resurgence by Durbin. It's just frustrating that both Crochet and Anthony are out with no definite timeline for their returns. And I've never seen a string of injuries accumulated by a young position player, Mayer.
  11. Aim for .500 first....that will take care of jumping over several teams analysis on a daily basis.
  12. Trade Duran to the Phillies. You can do whatever you want with Story and Yoshida. Their 2027 salaries are sunk cost. What we don't want to see is for Breslow to see if he can recoup $5-6M of their salaries. Their at bats are a premium commodity that should go to someone else. I love Sonny Gray especially his makeup as a starting pitcher. But this maybe the time to seriously consider trading him. Moon, what's the upside of him, what can we get for him? What if you package Gray and Chapman?
  13. Is he going to face different pitchers next week? What do you have to lose? That he'll go 0-20 with 15 K's and have 20 fielding errors and his 'psyche' will be permanently damaged? Maybe he'll do worse than Mayer? Doubtful.
  14. 2026 Por tland 65 (GP) 246 (AB) 43 (runs) 81 (Hits) 15 (2B) 1 (3B) 17 (HR) 44 (RBI) 5 (SB) 31 (BB) 36 (K) Sure am glad that Arias is wasting good stats playing in Portland. I bet DD wouldn't let him waste his talent while the major league team is floundering. .329 Average, .414 OBP, .606 Slugging, 1.020 OPS What does the analytics say Moon? Our baseball people are stupid.
  15. Glad to have Romy back. Eaton always battles at the plate, not passive like Mayer. Eaton averaged .296 and had an OPS of .731 in 2025. Not great but not terrible.
  16. Is it time to extend Abreu? From day 1, he looked like a natural hitter. He doesn't look like someone who will forget how to hit. Essentially that will 'lock up' 5 position players, Rafael, Anthony, Durbin, Mayer and Abreu. The first four are under team control through 2031.
  17. Only thing I care about.....13 games under .500. Let's go Sox.
  18. He must be a smart guy. Attended U of Washington at St Louis, a DIII school. I bet not many major leaguers come out of there. Also by coming in third in the NL Rookie of the Year balloting, he did not gain a year of service time in 2025. Thus this is technically his first year under team control.. He will be a Sox through his age 32, 2032.
  19. Wild card race 'watch' is silly. At this point I only care about getting back to .500.
  20. I think the 3 catcher rotation is working for us. Wong DH'ing today. Keeping Yoshida out of the lineup.
  21. I guess my problem was complimenting my ex-wife while we were still married.
  22. Well if he got hurt, we'll give him Sandoval money to rehab for us.
  23. Our starting pitching looks solid! Looks like Gonzalez will be back shortly. Will Anthony play this year? And what's going on with Casas?
