  1. Are you serious? Look at the stats. He was our ACE 1st half and most of last season. He was NOT hurt when when he was pitching. Kutter was hurt at the start of the season. You and I really don't have much to talk about on Houck issue.....damn glad we didn't extend them last year.
  2. I hate to be the second guesser after the fact but Eovaldi into his second year has really performed well for the Rangers. $75M for 3 years was little steep for the Sox. Again, Tanner Houck really put us in a bad place.
  3. My Worthless Stat-Updated/team wins with a starter Crochet 20 14 - 6 Buehler 16 9 - 7 Bello 15 8 - 7 Giolito 13 8 - 5 Dobbins 11 8 - 3 47 - 28 T Houck 9 2 - 7 Fitts 8 2 - 6 Newcomb 5 2 - 3 Bernardino 1 0 - 1 - 98 53 - 45
  4. We need a replacement for Buehler.. Wished Houck would come around.
  5. Wong now 0-27 with runner(s) in scoring position. Maybe he should just shut his eyes and swing. Become a left handed hitter. Do something.
  6. With our platooning, feels like we have more fire power at disposal, especially in latter innings. We can bring in left or right handed bats based on pitching matchup.
  7. Well they are wrong....This is his second year, he's credited with 1 year 41 days coming into 2025. His arbitration years are 2027-2028-2029. He then becomes a FA. Cot's is more reliable on contract matters.
  8. Kudos to Breslow for his vision. We are one top of the line starter from having a team that can compete for playoffs for next 6-7 years or through 2031 when Crochet's contract ends. That's the length of extension for Rafaela. Bello has a club option for 2030. Anthony and Mayer are team controlled through 2031. Narvaez is under team control through 2030. Abreu is under team control through 2028. Kristian Campbell is under team control through 2032 plus two option years. These are exciting times. Best thing Bres did was to get rid of Devers.
  9. Moon oh anyone. Who needs to be protected on our 40 man roster? I am guessing its getting crowded.
  10. He has struggled a bit with his pitch count recently. 7/6 98 pitches, 5 IP, 9H/2BB, 2 runs 6/30 89 pitches, 6 IP, 8H/1BB, 5 runs
  11. It adds to the excitement with so many young guys, Narvaez, Anthony, Rafaela, Abreu and Mayer anchored by veterans Bregman, Story, Yoshida, Gonzalez, Refsnyder and Duran. Exciting times...Positional players are set. Now go get us more quality pitchers.
  12. It would be great for Sox if Houck could provide some solid innings.....perhaps we're asking too much. We do have Fitts still but if Dobbins is out any length of time we need a backup plan for Buehler. I know that everyone would disagree but the only way to keep all of OF is maybe to move Anthony to 1B next year. Narvaez, Anthony, Mayer, Story, Bregman, Duran, Rafaela, Abreu and Yoshida with a new catcher, Gonzalez, Refsnyder and another utility bat coming off the bench. Mayer and Anthony needs to play every day. That's a solid starting 9. Maybe we add another right handed bat, someone like Garcia. I like the flexibility of this team. WE NEED ANOTHER STARTER AND A SET UP GUY IN THE BULLPEN.
  13. 30-20 at home....not sure when we were 10 games over .500
  14. I keep hearing its nit on top of the list. How hard is it to get a backup catcher?
  15. Ranking relief pitchers 1 Chapman (L) 2 Slaten (R) 3 Alcala (R) 4 Whitlock (R) 5 Weissert (R) 6 Bernardino (L) 7 Wilson (L) 8 Murphy (L) 9 Hicks (R) 10 Guerrero (R) 12 Kelly (R) 13 Hendriks (R-Injured) To be determined, Tanner Houck
  16. Stat of the Day Among our 13 positional players, we now have 11 players with OPS of .700 or higher. Mayer is the 12th at .674. Connor Wong at .375 is an embarrassment. He is 0-27 with runners in scoring position. (he did have a sacrifice fly for his only RBI) Please Mr. Breslow, find someone to replace this guy. Can we really afford to have him catch during playoffs? The blackest hole in a line up I've ever seen. Jays also have 11 but their #12 as an OPS of .622.
  17. I'll pivot. Devers in 80 at bats, .344 OBP + .363 Slugging = .707 OPS, 2 HR/9 RBI Nope, I don't miss him at all. He better hit or he'll hear some boos quickly.
  18. You know I feel comfortable saying that because we are usually on the same side. Optics are important when you're at the head of an organization. How do you feel about Duran for Joe Ryan of the Twins? We can't play this game of not wanting to trade Duran because he's now 'hot'. Just ask the Rays. I rather have Abreu than Duran. He hits for power and he's already won a gold glove. He's under contract for 4 more years, one more than Duran. Abreu is also almost 3 years younger. (2 yrs, 10 months) Do we need more or do the Twins need more out of this fantasy trade?
  19. You're nuts if you think Jordan Hicks gets demoted. We are looking for heat. You are not going to send a $12M acquisition to the minors. That will make Bres look dumb as a door knob.
  20. Like the pen reinforcement with additions of Alcala and Hicks. We still have decent farm even with top tier players having graduated. Bres is the man. The weak link right now is Wong. Big black hole when he plays.
