Here's a message from Cora to our younger players. “The last two days is a great example that contact matters. Contact matters,” Cora said. “Yeah, we live with strikeouts and all that. But there’s certain at-bats that you have to make sure you put the ball in play and good things happen. They did it yesterday and we did it today.”

We may need an infielder while Arroyo, Marwin and Santana are on the IL. Reports are that they're not coming back any time soon.
-
Looks to me like we need a middle infielder rather quickly. It was reported that Marwin, Santana and Arroyo are not expected to return any time soon. Sox maybe forced to bring up Downs. Sorry for hogging the board......

AL East Contenders-Last 10 days 7-3 Rays 6-4 Sox 5-5 Yankees 5-5 Jays I like to keep tab on this to see how the teams are doing recently. For the Yankees and Jays, not making up ground is troublesome for them. They may eventually run out of time.

Cordero Report Card Saturday 0-1 with 2 walks Sunday 1-3 with a key hit in the 8th inning.

LOS ANGELES -- After being out of the lineup for seven consecutive games, the Dodgers placed All-Star outfielder Mookie Betts on the 10-day injured list with right hip inflammation on Sunday. It's great that the Dodgers have the luxury of winning without him.

Alright, for pitching geniuses on this board. What's more taxing on the arm? Two consecutive one inning outings followed by rest day or one two innings stint followed by 2 days rest? I'm curious because is Whitlock best utilized as he is now or should he replace Ottavino for the 8th inning duty?

He wasn't very funny in a movie he was featured in.
-
If he's healthy tomorrow and after his next start, I don't see any point in having him pitch any longer in the minors.
-
No way Darwinzon gets demoted. Sox sees him as able pitcher as long as he starts a clean inning so he can walk 2 batters and strike out 3. Sawamura is very cheap, cost control guy for the Sox. Two years plus club option. I doubt he goes unless there's a good return. Our cost for both Richards and Perez is their paychecks. We can trade them for PTBNL. Not sure if we get much for them other than taking on their salaries.

Sale in his third minor league start went for 64 pitches...his fastball toping out at 96 MPH (it hit 98 MPH). I wonder what the targeted goal is in terms of pitch count before he's up with the Sox?

Should have never brought in Workman....yes, I'm the designated back seat driver.

Cora will tell you that it was about pitching match up.....that's what he always says

Turn around is fair play after last night.

2 man on, no outs, top of order.

Yeah, it's time to take the fight outside of this bar......
-
Oh, he's going to get hammered. It's just matter of if the ball is hit in the direction of a fielder. He needs to be lucky in order to survive.

Maybe we're not as good as we think we are.....have we overachieved? Rays with $83M payroll with not one single player making over $10M. We gave Richards $10M contract (1.5M for refusing 2022 club option). We're still the drunken sailor with no financial discipline.

Brandon Workman is in. We've officially given up on this game.
