  1. About time....I've been right about every young guys needing to be up in the majors.
  2. good analysis......but do we move Duran for his trade value and having Password waiting on the wings....he may or may not work out but he sure looks to be a keeper.
  3. He still has much work to do.......he's lucky that he found a 1B on the cheap. Just got to address the needs this winter. Our outfield situation needs to be cleaned up. It's just not having one extra outfielder, it's that three bats left handed and two have issues hitting left handed pitching. You can't have one of them DH and have 2 left handed bats out there.
  4. I am just confused. Hopefully either Duran or Abreu would be moved. I would go with Duran getting moved. He probably has higher trade value. He is under team control for 3 more years which should be attractive. Abreu is under team control for 4 more years and I think he has 30 HR in him in the future. Just simplify. Anthony in left, Rafaela in center, Abreu in right. Bring up Password as a back up/DH. Not sure about Refsnyder playing much longer. He also seems to require time off. There's also been talk that if we acquire a regular 1B, Campbell's best position is in outfield. Ugh. (another cluster f***) I'm assuming Mayer will play 2B or return to 3B if Bregman doesn't return. Youngster Frank Arias maybe the heir apparent to Story when he leaves. For me, if we get into the playoffs this year and do something, then great. But next year definitely starts the 6 year window for me, to coincide with Crochet's six year deal. We should be a no doubter playoff team contending for the world series champions. Bres has much work to do this winter.
  5. If we follow this to conclusion, Anthony should be learning to play 1B. Simply because Duran and Abreu are playing the positions they should. If the Sox feel, Abreu is a platoon player, then his defensive prowess goes out the window. A gold glove that plays only 100 games a year? He should be traded. Make the freakin' tough choices. Decide for once and for all, what this team should look like, not having multiple players playing multiple position so that Cora can feel like a genius. Good grief.;
  6. Nice job by Bres. Always thinking Sox is the only organization that can fix pitchers. And here we are.
  7. Why does this organization always build a team with hope and a prayer? Exhibit 1 Why do we keep Yoshida? We're hoping for what exactly from him? I rather watch Password hit than Yoshida, Monday through Sunday. Exhibit 2 Why do we keep parading out Buehler? His one outing deserves 4 mediocre starts? 4 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings. Is that the best we got? Bres should be fired. Exhibit 3 We did have a chance to pickup Joe Ryan. Bres simply plays in the middle lane. Get me DD any day. I can go on......Just freakin frustrated with this organization.
  8. And can we just not talk about 'hard' schedule vs 'easy' schedule? We are not good enough to control the opponents. We beat good teams and turn around lose to bad teams. This is not a World Championship team. No way it can win a 5 game series, away, 2 7game series away. Fat chance. That's not a crap shoot for us.
  9. thanks for telling it like it is......Whitlock always gets a pass on this board. He gets hit hard. That's just what I see.
  10. Perhaps Ivy Leaguer Breslow should have done SOMETHING about strengthening the back end of our bullpen. All talk, no action Bres. Whitlock is hittable, and I don't care what anyone here says. Weissert always peters out as the season goes. And that's how you get 7 IP, 3 hits, 1 walk, 8K, 1ER gem from an ace and waste it. No excuse for it. You just wait, this won't be a cakewalk to the playoffs. Guys are getting hurt left and right.
  11. All I hear is how great Whitlock is.......same old Whitlock to me. Another Matt Barnes....
  12. We do not lead the league in runs scored. NESN announcers just make things up.
  13. Lets keep our fingers crossed....And for Giolito to find the strike zone. As a side note, the Guardians have been stubborn, hanging around just outside of playoff picture. Others are fading.
  14. We went 1-10 with RISP.....pretty much sums it up......
  15. Talk about a crap shoot. Here we are in August, and we're still dealing with mediocre outings by Buehler. Other than 4 walks and 2 homers..............yep other than the bullet in his head, Lincoln enjoyed the show....
  16. I saw his market value around $3M+....just looked cheap. We did make a trade for him.
  17. Do we sign Dustin May? He's only making $2.135M. Only 27.
  18. 100 1/3 innings pitched for Giolito. Probably 8 more starts to go. He needs to pitch couple of 7/8 inning starts. I never thought it would be tough to get up to 140 innings for a starter.
  19. I wouldn't sleep on Narvaez either. It won't cost us much because he's a cather. I think he's a keeper and eventually he'll become a good hitter. I can see him at 1B and at DH to take off some wear and tear.
  20. Moon, how do you see 1B panning out in 2026? Right now, I'd love the idea of Garcia playing 1B if we are keeping all of our OF. I don not want Garcia in any trade. He's a keeper. Or do we roll the dice and trade Abreu and plug Garcia in the outfield mix? I just don't believe Casas will be ready at the start of 2026 and quite frankly I don't know what we'll get. He's just slow and really doesn't fit the team going forward. CC Narvaez 1B Garcia 2B Mayer SS Trevor 3B Bregman-50/50 LF Duran/Anthony CF Duran/Rafaela RF Abreu/Anthony DH TBD (I just don't like Yoshida) If Bregman leaves, I can see JH going cheap and perhaps play Mayer at 3B and plug in Rafaela at 2B (Cora keeps saying Rafaela is the best CF but we simply have plethora of outfielders, including now Garcia in the mix for 2026) We can keep our three amigos in the OF (Anthony, Duran, Abreu) and still have Garcia learning to play 1B. Then the Bregman money can be used to shore up our starting rotation. I think we're in a good position going forward.....If Bregman signs a long term deal, I want that, we won't have to worry about left side of the infield defense and we'll have plenty of pop offensively. Sure would be nice to get a rookie to step in and capture the #5 spot in the rotation. Bello, Crawford, Criswell, Crochet, Dobbins, Fitts, Giolito (?), Harrison, Houck, Perales, Sandoval, then Tolle, Witherspoon, Early, and Sandlin. We have enough guys for 5 spots if everyone is healthy.
  21. Nice homer by Anthony. Unbelievable how far he can hit. Obviously his exit velocity is one of the best. And the 4 walks. Not shabby for a 21 year old.
  22. I pretty much expected this from you..."Baloney" you said. Who said anything about doing it Today....I just wished you put me on ignore...... Are you that tone deaf that you think I'm the only one on this planet smart enough to say it? I heard it from countless former players in print and on the air.
