  1. Goo Good news is Detroit is up 4-0 vs Kansas City in the 5th. I'm just worried about getting into the playoffs.
  2. Kiss my ass Cora.....confidence my ass.....he hits like a little girl. Can we find more unathletic guy than Yoshida? 15-66 .545 OPS in August.
  3. The (relatively) easy schedule the Red Sox have the rest of the way — with six games against the Athletics, three against Tampa Bay and three against Arizona — looks like an advantage. But it won’t mean much if the Red Sox can’t do a better job than they’re doing this weekend against the Pirates. I just wished all the TV guys would quit talking about our schedule. Every game is a tough game.
  4. Not sure if I consider this a gamble, essentially a 1 year deal for $13+M. Buehler signing at $20M was a gamble, signing based solely on his World Series performance. It's worth the 'gamble'.
  5. Excellent!
  6. It's been a good season for me despite my complaints about Cora and Bres. (For life of me, just let Yoshida go) Wil finally get to see Tolle, after the unveiling of Anthony, Mayer, Campbell, Narvaez. There's a special feeling watching the 'rookies'. Well done, Bres. Now go get Ryan this winter.
  7. I'm doing back flips. Yes, Yes, and Yes. I want to see all the youngsters.
  8. Yeah, there are no easy teams. We went 4-0 vs the Orioles but it was no walk in the park.
  9. 4 game winning streak. All critical last 10 game result....7-3. 3 teams in AL with that record. The Mets and the Pirates also at 7-3, last 10 games.
  10. Basically we're at $244M this year. Big ticket items coming off would be Buehler ($21M), Giolito ($19), Chapman ($10.75M) and Hendricks ($5M) for total of $56M. That needs to be reduced by Crochet ($24M) and Anthony (16M). So the net savings would be $16M. I see no way we'll have the 'same' team with $16M budget. We need to replace Giolito and Chapman. That alone would get us $20M over the $244M luxury tax limit. And let's not forget what additional money it would take to redo Bregman's contract. Obviously we have no idea what Sandoval can do. Can he be equal to Giolito? I would suggest to Bres to make the Joe Ryan deal work out and shed some salary. He'll be in his first year of arbitration. I'd like for our starting rotation to look, Crochet, Bello, Giolito, Sandoval, Ryan, Tolle, Crawford, Houck.
  11. This is fun team to watch because the team FINALLY brought up Anthony. It's fun to watch because every fifth game, we get to see an ace, Crochet. Better yet, we get to see him for next 6 years. It's fun to watch because in Bregman, we truly have a power bat and a good glove at 3B and provides leadership to our younger players. It's fun to watch because 9th inning belongs to Chapman, who has never been better. Talk all you want but we need to get him back for couple of more years. It's fun to watch because the team is all about winning right now. Everyone is all in. It's fun to watch because we don't have anyone telling the management no way I'm going to switch positions. Devers will be forever remembered as a selfish dude.
  12. 5 1/2 up on Kansas City, 1st team out of playoff spot.
  13. Anthony's fault. He just had to make a contact. Please don't turn into a Casas. With 2 strikes, you can't trust the umpire.
  14. Another good outing by Bello....he's changed. 6 2/3 innings and only 1 walk. That's all I need to know. Good job. I hate anyone that can't throw strikes in major leagues.
  15. Yoshida sucks. Cora sucks. Cora trusts Yoshida. You're an idiot.
  16. Next year, hopefully we can just put him in center field and not worry about him. He's a gold glover. We have other things to worry about. He's not the problem.
  17. We won yesterday but we still need a starter. Just bring up someone else. I'm thinking of one in particular.
  18. Fitts is horrible......put him in the bullpen.
  19. I agree....just wanted to throw in another experienced major league pitcher. Tolle would be my only untouchable pitcher right now.
  20. At the top of the list is 1) extending Bregman 2) trade for Ace #2, Joe Ryan. You can give up in addition to say Duran, current major league pitchers. I wouldn't rule out Kutter Crawford as an example to sweeten the pot. Just get the damn deal done. Thinks of rotation starting with Crochet, Ryan and Bello (for now). This is how you win world series. Have top 2-3 starting pitchers for the playoffs. 3)strengthen the bullpen, bring back Chapman on a two year deal. Give him $36M if you have to win. We should be all in next 6 years. 4)Obtain a suitable 1B. If Casas returns to health great, but I wouldn't quite count on it. this get you the basic group that you can go with.....to compete against good teams.
  21. I don't dislike any professional athlete as a person. I just think Yoshida's usefulness is behind him. I rather watch Refsnyder and Gonzalez as a DH or Anthony for that matter. Yoshida has no place in this lineup. For me, this team is turning into a group of athletes. Unless you can bring power into the equation, and no athleticism, then you should be dropped.
  22. Any day Yoshida is not in the lineup is a good day for me. I'm in a good place. Even though Bres 'lucked into' obtaining a real 1B. Bullpen needs more reinforcement. The floodgate has opened. Bring up more prospects. See what they got. I know what we have in Buehler. Can do better.
