The mere mention of Eduardo Perez makes this Seattle fan cringe. On June 20, 2006, the Mariners traded a 20-year-old Asdrúbal Cabrera for the 36-year-old Perez in his final MLB season. Twentyt-six days later the M's traded a barely 24-year-old Shin-Soo Choo for a 29-year-old Ben Broussard, who played only two more MLB seasons. Fourteen years later Cabrera and Choo are former All Stars who remain contributors to their respective teams. -

MLB will almost certainly investigate all credible reports of sign stealing in violation of the announced rules. For all we know the MLB investigation may clear the 2018 Red Sox of any wrongdoing. Or not.

I thought the front office would notify Alex Cora that the Red Sox were actively looking for his replacement but waiting until MLB announced its sanctions before officially severing ties. Got that one wrong.

The point may have been made if Dustin Pedroia and another player from the San Joaquin Valley were under investigation for similar behavior the month the valley experienced yet another natural disaster. Or not.
