  1. With the proposed trade, each team assumes an injury risk, especially the Dodgers with David Price and his rumored net annual salary of $16 million.
  2. Perhaps the Red Sox asked for Jordan Balazovic but settled for their second choice in Brusdar Graterol. Or not.
  3. Because the Twins have the asset in question, the Dodgers should not be asked to sweeten their contribution.
  4. What if righthander Jordan Balazovic replaces Brusdar Graterol in the deal? https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=balazo000jor Balazovic, who is three weeks younger than Graterol, lacks the latter's MLB-readiness but is similarly ranked at MLB Pipeline: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2020?list=prospects … and similarly rated at FanGraphs: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-33-prospects-boston-red-sox/ https://blogs.fangraphs.com/top-43-prospects-minnesota-twins/
  5. What if righthander Jordan Balazovic replaces Brusdar Graterol in the deal? https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=balazo000jor Balazovic, who is three weeks younger than Graterol, lacks the latter's MLB-readiness but is similarly ranked at MLB Pipeline: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2020?list=prospects
  6. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that Alex Verdugo has been "medically cleared," according to MLB Trade Rumors: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/02/latest-on-potential-mookie-betts-trade.html
  7. We don't know whether the consummated deal was better than, worse than or the same as earlier offers. We're confident that Chaim Bloom waited until late in the offseason to pull off the trade.
  8. The Dodgers reportedly will trade Joc Pederson and one-time All Star pitcher Ross Stripling to the Angels, who might compete in the loaded American League West.
  9. https://highheelsonthefield.typepad.com/all_heels_on_deck/2019/02/dodgers-after-dark-the-sexual-assaults-mlb-never-investigated-a-teams-culture-unexamined.html
  10. The Red Sox did well. On an MLB Trade Rumors poll, I gave the Red Sox an A and the Dodgers and Twins Bs. Good trade all around (assuming players pass physicals because each team assumes injury risks).
  11. Agreed, but how do the Red Sox go about rebuilding the farm?
  12. Is that language necessary on this friendly baseball forum? Calm down, take a deep breath and consult a trusted support person. FWIW, I too like the trade ... for all three clubs.
  13. That would include David Price and Brusdar Graterol.
  14. Everyone in the trade -- including David Price -- needs to pass a physical.
  15. The outcome of the trade may depend on the health of David Price, Alex Verdugo and Brusdar Graterol. Or not.
  16. Does the trade open up a rotation slot for Brian Johnson, Matt Hall or Hector Velazquez?
  17. Red Sox fans should be grateful for the patience of Chaim Bloom.
  18. I too enjoy passing time by commenting on trade proposals but I humbly acknowledge that I have no insider information.
  19. The more I learn the more I am humbled by how little I know.
  20. If the Red Sox are shopping Mookie Betts, its's obvious the Sox want to slip under the luxury tax threshold. Perhaps the Dodgers and Padres are "sweating out" the Red Sox. And vice versa. It's the nature of negotiations. I suspect offers have been exchanged since November. Chaim Bloom apparently has been patient as the offers have gotten better, worse or stayed the same. We outsiders probably will never know.
  21. Only the restless would start a thread with this misleading title. It's your fault ... take responsibility.
  22. Irresponsible (in a recurring pattern).
  23. What qualifies as "competitive" for a franchise that has advanced to the postseason four times in the past decade, capturing two World Series titles, and winning a combined one game over the other two postseason trips? The Red Sox and their fans have survived a wide range of outcomes.
