    I wouldn’t mind if they bumped Sale to closer, but I’d be surprised. If there is a positive spin to Sale’s 2022, it’s that none of his injuries were to his left shoulder or left elbow. Even the broken wrist was his right one. He did break his left pinky finger, so I don’t know if that will impact anything pitching-wise, but it’s certainly not as important as his left index and middle fingers…

    That’s ridiculous. If Devers or Bogaerts decided to no longer try because they didn’t like the trade deadline activity, why would anyone want either of them extended. The roster activity and direction of their team is neither of their concern. The job of both - and everyone else on the roster is simply to play ball to their best of their ability…

    The Orioles are not bad. They have the best record in the AL East since June 1 and are 42-28 in that time frame…

    Five of those six hitters are back, but three of them are doing worse than last season (using OPS+ as a metric). Bogaerts is pretty much the same, and Devers, complete with slump, is doing better…

    Devers is 12 for his last 84 for a .539 OPS. Martinez is 16 for his last 99 for a .480 OPS Bogaerts is 14 for his last 67 for a .583 OPS.

    The funny thing is, people still think they’re a dooormat. They play 76 games in a division where the worst team is one game under .500. They have no recognizable stars. And one of, if not the best farms in MLB with 3 marquee names ready to step in. The Orioles are not a doormat today, and may not be one again for quite a while…

    He has 4 World Series rings - 1983 Orioles, 2004 Red Sox, 2007 Red Sox, and 2013 Red Sox. That’s an awful lot of hardware for someone who’s “not a baseball guy.”..

    Lucchino also has multiple World Series rings (with the Orioles and Red Sox), a Super Bowl ring (with the Washington Redskins) and a Final Four Watch (from his playing days at Princeton). He is quite possibly the only human to have all of these. He might not have been the most personable human being, but he was definitively not a loser. He was also on the BOD for the Special Olympics and extremely philanthropic towards Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund. Why do people hate this guy so much?
