  1. If there is a crunch, you might see Valdez to DH, Turner to 1b, Casas to Worcester…
  2. Also worth noting - it’s May 1st and the Yankees are currently in sole possession of the AL East cellar…
  3. I’d rather just extend him. Not a good pattern to deal players just as they get good just to obtain other players who aren’t good yet…
  4. There was a lot of “can’t play RF” stuff, but I think most of the trade talk was just speculation due to his remaining control. There’s been a pattern lately about players gettting traded when they have one year left…
  5. I don’t think the $20mill they threw at Kluber and Paxton was a factor in whether or not to throw $300mill at Devers…
  6. If the Sox extended him, then it’s pretty likely Devers would have walked after this year…
  7. I have to say - consider how good the Sox offense might be they got to face Kluber…
  8. At that point, they might DFA Tapia…
  9. Really? There’s a lot to like about this team, too. The bullpen has been great and is finally Ort-free. Sale has shown marked improvement in his last 3 starts and might be shaking off 3 years worth of rust. Some of the younger arms (Winckowski, Crawford) that were whipping boys last year are showing they might be good. Yoshida has turned around a horrible start. This team just doesn’t give up. 2-0 in extra innings despite giving up the first run in both games. That’s a huge step up over last year. Tied with the Yankees! I think they can stay in the postseason hunt.
  10. Hard to walk away from $300+ million, especially knowing one bad knee injury can make it a horrible financial decision…
  11. I thought you were fighting disinformation…
  12. It’s unfortunate, but that kind of thing happens all the time. They’re not going to DFA Brasier unless they need a 40 man roster spot, which they do not need in order to activate either Rodriguez or Paxton…
  13. As long as he’s not a DH…
  14. It would probably sting a lot less…
  15. I am ok with using one trade to justify another one…
  16. The other one is a much older 25…
  17. You sure? MVP said one of them was in Colorado…
  18. Rays give up 7 runs in the ninth inning to lose to the White Sox…
  19. But those were his only two starts after the trade deadline…
  20. Yankees trail Texas 14-1. Assuming no major bullpen catastrophe, the Yankees would move into the cellar, tied with Boston…
  21. Both pitch(ed) for Cleveland Both pitch left-handed. Both bat right handed. Both are from Florida. I can see the confusion…
  22. Pull him!! Before he pulls something!!
