  1. Considering big moves before Thanksgiving are getting rare, we are off to a good start. But I think I at a bare minimum wait until pitchers and catchers report before calling the off-season a bust…
  2. And curse Breslow for acquiring a player who got injured!! It’s 2026! Can’t we get a CBO who knows better already? What does it matter if the player was acquired via trade or free agency? Crochet addressed a major need. I think some people are more infatuated with Henry spending than they are with the team improving. (Also Crochet’s extension was not free.) The Sox last year built a team that got to the postseason. They didn’t do it in one day. A year ago today, their biggest move of the off-season to date was singing Justin Wilson. We’re already ahead of that pace…
  3. So Bregman and Crochet were reclamation projects?
  4. Too bad they’re done making moves. Breslow has said he only adds one player every 6 months. It’s a superstition, but one he lives by…
  5. 1. ERA isnt a good measure as it depends on ballpark and defense. Gray made 32 starts, threw 180 IP, lead the league in K/BB. 2. Are you saying that the Sox should only make moves that address major needs? And no, they cannot prioritize them because they can’t control when players sign and when teams deal. Make moves when you can. The Sox did improve their pitching staff. It’s only November. No one else in the AL East has done anything better than Jake Fraley…
  6. Is Devers really a loss? The team was so much better once he left…
  7. Did you just refer to Hicks and Yoshida as “trade assets”?
  8. I absolutely love that idea. Duran ($49.5mill) and Abreu ($26.2) give a surplus value of $75.7mill to SD. This is just shy of Tatis ($83.2mill) Adding in a single player like Mikey Romero (8.3), Jhostnyxon Garcia (7.8), or Kyle Harrison (9.4) makes it a fair trade package on that metric. I imagine they prefer Harrison. Young, cheap pitching is like a trump card in these deals…
  9. That package should get you Mason Miller, Rick Miller, Shelby Miller, Wade Miller and as a PTBNL, Roger Miller…
  10. But if the Sox never trade Lynn, we would be without all those heartwarming memories created by Frank Tanana, Jim Dorsey and The Return of the (Joe) Rudi…
  11. Too bad, because when stories break that the Sox are “interested in” a player, it almost always assures a deal is imminent. (Possible sarcasm?)
  12. Gray is a full 7 inches shorter, but as you pointed out, he’s a year younger. Maybe he’ll have a growth spurt in his late 30’s…
  13. If you’re packaging him with Mayer and Abreu and trying to get a set up/closer, no team will turn that down. They’ll take Mayer and Abreu, DFA Grissom, and then likely pass away from physical exhaustion caused by their uncontrollable bouts of laughter…
  14. Think the Athletics are going to bench Brent Rooker in favor of Yoshida?
  15. They’re going to address the infield somehow. I think they are aware who they have and who they list…
  16. Hmmmm… not so sure I agree. I was thinking of coming back as Bugs Bunny from “Baseball Bugs”
  17. I know!! It’s almost (but not quite). THANKSGIVING and this team still looks like the pathetic 89 win team from 7 weeks ago! But with Sonny Gray…
  18. Are those reports from me on this board a month ago?
  19. Next up? RHSP Jon Gray, obviously…
  20. Good point. Fitts, yes. But when did Bloom get all this familiarity with 2024 draft pick Brandon Clarke?
  21. So is Breslow’s plan this off-season only to acquire players named Gray? First Tristan, now Sonny. Or will he be venturing out into other colors? (Like, say, Hunter Greene? Or will we just get Seth Brown and Tyler Black?)
  22. I had him and Password ad their most tradable prospects, but I had hoped for someone better. I liked Fitts as a potential bullpen arm, where I felt he could succeed…
  23. I don’t like that return at all for Gray. A BA top 100 prospect plus for a 36yo pitcher making over $30mill?
  24. Unless it’s for Alan Alonso, José Marte, and Ryan Noda…
  25. I did not have this on my Bingo card. Well, I did back in like 2023…
