  1. We’ll just write it off as Friday Math…
  2. Sox are 34-35. I think their 2023 winning percentage is a bit off…
  3. Once again you confuse me with Bloom. It shouldn’t have happened once. Not adding anything to your credibility…
  4. Bloom does seem to want that farm pipeline moving. And honestly, he probably needs it moving soon if he em wants to keep his job. BTV gives Verdugo a surplus value of $22.2mill. Turner a surplus value of $0.7mill. And Hernandez a surplus value of (-$2.1)mill. If he needs that pipeline, Verdugo is a logical choice…
  5. I have doubts the Sox move Jansen or Martin. I could see them moving Verdugo, as his value likely only gets lower if they wait and he has the full season of control beyond this year. Plus he was publicly in Cora’s doghouse earlier. Also it could clear up a logjam by putting Duran/Refsnyder in CF, Duvall slides over to RF, clearing up the playing time logjam. So deal Verdugo got his seller mode and get a RP (Aroldis Chapman stops their never ending quest for a LHRP) for his buyer mode.
  6. I wouldn’t say here sucks; he’s a decent pitcher whose attendance is unreliable…
  7. And while that price is far from prohibitive, it could also be an issue for 3 more years. It’s not much less than Kluber, but 4 times the length…
  8. Maybe he thinks he’s the greatest boneheaded manager in Sox history?
  9. If his option is worth exercising, his AAV doubles this year…
  10. No CB Bucknor?
  11. But he’s not as cheap as you keep saying. His $6.5mill AAV only lasts if the Padres decline his 2 yr $30mill team option and Wacha exercises his player option for the next 3 years. So his $6.5mill AAV only lasts if he isn’t worth it…
  12. Does a .260 BABIPA? A couple days ago I assumed alike had more throwing errors than Tampa, but didn’t verify it. I went and verified it. Kike had 12 at the time; Tampa had 11. Oh and San Diego had 14. Think Wacha’s 31% GB plays the same with the Sox infield?
  13. Except game 2, where the Sox battled back from a 4-0 lead to fail to finish off the game by not sliding…
  14. Plan C is Dalbec, at least for this year…
  15. How many backup plans should a team have?
  16. I’m glad someone is keeping score. Out of curiosity, what post did it knock off the top of the list? (Presumably not this one.)
  17. Being counted on by who? They could just as easily be traded. I doubt the Sox themselves are banking on them; anyone with any experience in MLB has certainly seen even the highest ranked prospects flounder, wash out, or settle in at mediocrity…
  18. Do we really know when Dermody embraced Christianity? Not uncommon for adults to convert. Of course, he is from Iowa, where it’s also very common. Still, brainwashed or not, he’s young enough to have grown up around social media and old enough to have seen these scandals before. He gets no free pass from me…
  19. They’re excited about the potential. No harm in that…
  20. He’s a bigot. Racism and homophobia are just subsets of bigotry
  21. The only thing they can be counted on is to make minimum wage for a few years, which keeps the overall payroll in check. Hopefully they can do more, and we certainly want them to. But we can count on them to make league minimum, which isn’t a nothing attribute…
  22. He wasn’t a young kid; he was 30. Josh Hader was a young kid when he did similar things. Dermody was an adult…
  23. Well, right-handed hitters…
  24. Either that or just keep him around for the next decade and hope it works out…
  25. Yamamoto is 5’10”. Top shelf is out of his reach, too..,
