  1. No. That two have fallen doesn’t mean the rest are eager to sign with anyone who answers the phone. Unless instructed otherwise by their clients, the agents for each of these pitchers will be checking in with any and every team with an open Walker to make sure nothing is left on the table. Now it’s possible someone like Montgomery will say “anywhere but Boston.” But I wouldn’t bank on it.
  2. The trade market has numerous options. Cease, Burnes, Glasnow, and Bieber could all be dealt this off-season…
  3. Other trade options include Corbin Burnes, Tyler Glasnow and Shane Bieber. The big issue is each has just one year of control remaining. But that’s not an unfixable issue in many cases…
  4. Yes he was. But not related to performance. The waived him in order to get his salary off the books once they realized they were not heading into the postseason and it was too late to trade his salary away, and he was ineligible for a QO. That might be the type of move we see several teams make going forward…
  5. Giolito was left of postseason roster largely because Cleveland didn’t make the postseason. Flaherty pitched in the postseason…
  6. Bauer is mega-talented but very unlikely. His multi-million dollar arm is only available if you also purchase his 10 cent head…
  7. I’ll place money now Houck starts more games than any of us prefer…
  8. Walk past Turnbull. No one is married to him as an option…
  9. But does it change his decision to give them one? Are we going to pretend the “money won’t be a factor” attitude is new? Or acknowledge that we are going to hear it whether money is a factor or not?
  10. That makes sense. I expect Llovera might hang on longer due to his velocity, but it will still be a matter of time for him…
  11. Garrett Cooper would be a good bench OF/1b type. No great glove anywhere but a much better hitter than Dalbec…
  12. What about Stroman and ERod? Enough or not?
  13. Turnbull might even be an MiLB deal. He’s a bit of a wild card…
  14. What if they bulk up the bullpen? A reliever can impact more games than a starter…
  15. Turnbull is certainly worthy of a depth move. Anything to keep Jacques out of the rotation…
  16. That’s a relative term. Ask the owners of a Maserati and a Kia Soul and compare the answers…
  17. So not factoring in that Weiss is almost 32 and been bouncing in and out (mostly out) of MLB for several years while Robertson is 25, has very limited experience and (unlike Weiss) has an option left?
  18. But starting in AAA doesn’t get him on the field to back up Casas…
  19. I think expecting a #1 and a #3 is a recipe for disappointment unless the budget is rather large…
  20. Gray is also a year and a half older. I liked Gray more, but Stroman is certainly a good Plan B.
  21. Turnbull is an unknown at worst given his recent injury history. But he was absolutely a good pitcher prior. Do the Dox have 5 better reliable starters?
  22. Any planet that values FIP, in which he was better than Bello, Crawford and Houck…
  23. I don’t think Dalbec’s abilty to backup 1b (which he does poorly) matters much since he’s not much more likely to make the 26 man roster than you are. He’s easily replaceable in that regard, preferably with someone more versatile…
  24. Robertson before Weiss?
