  1. While I agree and think Bauer is done in MLB, I cannot look at him the same since settling in civil court is very, very different than being found not guilty in criminal court. Civil court is about personal squabbles that are not necessarily legal matters…
  2. We should stop talking about Bauer because one thing we do know about him is he does not sell himself for low money, and no one knows if his second chance has changed this. The Sox right now are claiming they cannot afford Mike Clevinger. Not sure Bauer is even in any realistic discussion…
  3. He’s not an idiot, but he is an *******. And he’d be the first to admit it. Might be nice if he did so with less pride for once…
  4. He doesn’t watch or go to games at all. “Why would I waste my time? That team isn’t any good. I’m too busy living my life full throttle.”
  5. But on a staff with Injured List residents Chris Sale, Michael Wacha and Nate Eovaldi, the one guy to get the Early Hook / Dedicated Replacement treatment is the guy who pitched 158 IP the season before and just happened to be 42 years old…
  6. His 2021 was acceptable, but he’s only pitched 79 IP since. At that point, I’d just assume sign Greinke…
  7. So would Eric Lauer. And it seems like Lauer would be the more likely guy to salvage…
  8. f*** yeah!
  9. Using Houck to piggyback Hill was just part of Cora’s ageism. I’m surprised he didn’t bring a stretcher out to the mound when he had to yank Hill…
  10. So fun to see you getting on board with Turnbull and Chirinos after blasting those suggestions when I made them earlier. Brad Keller also awaits his apology
  11. Paxton to Dodgers 1 yr $11mill. I quotient have minded him, but he’s pretty fungible. Besides the two unsigned big names, Clevinger, Alex Wood, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Michael Lorenzen, and Eric Lauer still remain viable options. And then there’s the trade market…
  12. Alex Cora also declined…
  13. Ok so - opener then Tanner?
  14. Hey all it takes is 84 wins to get to the World Series!!
  15. So no one has seen this mysterious list…
  16. It’s a subscription site. Maybe he doesn’t have one…
  17. I get that. I also think that you d maybe we value these players more than they do and press for immediacy. Both Snell and Montgomery would be upgraded. But does it make sense to go all in for these guys or maybe wait a year and go all in for Corbin Burnes or Walker Buehler or Brandon Woodruff or Shane Bieber or Max Fried? That’s part of the agenda that we don’t know about but I can’t pretend doesn’t exist. And despite the lack of action this year, pitchers like Snell, Montgomery, Bauer, Clevinger, and Mike Lorenzen are all still out there so other teams aren’t grabbing any of them either. There are three Cy Young awards still looking for jobs! It’s not as early as it used to be, but with so many pitchers still available, it’s not over yet…
  18. Want it make sense for him to downplay it, from an accountability standpoint? I do believe Bailey is impressed and thinks he can work with some of these pitchers…
  19. Not sure why the Sox (and numerous other teams) not spending heavily in free agency is some sort of tragedy…
  20. They won’t sign a guy with a horsewhip…
  21. As slow as the Sox have been, they are right there with the rest of the league (except the Dodgers). There are still 27 starting pitchers listed on MLBTR. Granted, they still list Paxton but they don’t list Trevor Bauer. You could still make a very competitive rotation with these remaining arms. This is why missing out on Paxton just won’t bother me. Heck I’m more upset about missing out on Aroldis Chapman…
  22. You’re running up the white flag after missing out on a starting pitcher who’s been averaging 30 IP per season? I know everyone wants SP help, but Paxton has shown us he’s more problem than solution. If the Sox want to save mo year, they should just go sign the guy they were going to need to replace Paxton in the rotation anyway and cut out the middle man…
  23. Never play poker against a man with 13 aces…
  24. If fans want continuity, they may need a Time Machine. Most teams nowadays turn over at least 20 roster spots every 5 years…
  25. Opener is a relevant word in anyone’s 2024 MLB vocabulary. And if you want to be Tampa North, it’s an important word…
