  1. With SD, it’s probably either prospects or get a third team. Unless they figure they’re not going/likely to compete during King’s two seasons with the team…
  2. I agree. They do need Duran but they also need King. They do have 3 Top 100 prospects that are pitchers, but the three have combined for 47 IP above A ball, so there might be no surprises if none of them took a rotation spot either…
  3. Yeah they only have 3 SPs and 2 OFs. They do have 4 open spots on their 40 man. Plus about 4 or 5 pitchers on my DFA Radar…
  4. Sure. Why not?
  5. Hey he listened to me on Tyler O’Neill, didn’t he?
  6. Have faith, my son. As Tolkien once prophesized, we shall see The Return of the King…
  7. Someplace in one of these threads I suggested the Padres should be interested in Jarren Duran. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/02/padres-trade-rumors-jarren-duran-red-sox-free-agents-lorenzen-ryu-lauer.html
  8. And AJ Puk!!
  9. Can you imagine if the Sox DFAd Jacques and then didn’t bring back Montgomery or Snell?
  10. No mention of the Sox as front runners, however…
  11. Probably for someone not on the 40 man. Otherwise if the Sox sign Montgomery, they’d have to DFA Joe Jacques…
  12. Winner of the Most Talked About Minor League Contract Ever Award...
  13. That seems to be the universally agreed-upon plan to improve the defense, so why not? It's probably easier to coach a player into being a better pitcher than it is to making him a better defender...
  14. Jim Willoughby, Dick Drago, and Reggie Cleveland…
  15. You would be correct. Using a current or even inactive member of this forum might not always go over well…
  16. There might be a few others who recall him. Definitely a small scale (and very harmless) inside joke...
  17. A reference to another forum that Bellhorn should recall...
  18. (praying) Please let him use BlargyBlarg. Please let him use BlargyBlarg.
  19. Apples and oranges have a lot in common. Both are round, roughly the same size. Both are classified as fruit. Both have inedible seeds on the inside. Both are colored with red to some degree. Both are frequently juiced. Heck, you often find them near each other in the supermarket. If you need to express how different two things are, maybe try apples and basketballs. Or apples and aluminum siding. Now THOSE things are different...
  20. That he posts here even occasionally shows he is more involved than Henry...
  21. No doubt the Sox will pounce on the DFAd Otto Lopez, who looks like the younger and better version of Dalton Guthrie. Between Lopez, Guthrie and Durand, the Sox should be able to put together one helluva battle for the all-important position of AAA bench player...
  22. OK. That's acceptable...
  23. Any day now, I'm expecting Sam to update on the Sox rotation by telling us "all starting pitchers are equal, but some are more equal than others"
  24. I'm ok with that. Just have good relief pitchers who can get people out...
  25. You read Shaughnessy's books?
