  1. Does Breslow make out lineups?
  2. Questionable because September callous are 3 days away, but the Ghost cannot be recalled for 10 days (barring injuries, doubleheaders, and the usual loopholes..
  3. Very unlikely. Releasing Yoshida would cost Boston nearly $40mill, a far cry from the $3-4 mill Buehler had left on his deal. Plus Yoshida is optionable, which does have value. Oh, and Cora seems to like playing him…
  4. He will wind up with a contender very shortly…
  5. They will probably use a dozen starters next year, like they do nearly every year. But they can only have 5 healthy SPs without options on opening day. If Harrison finds his niche in the bullpen, that’s fine. But I think he gets a chance to start at some point. Don’t forget that despite already having 188 IP as a starter, he’s only about a year and a half older than Tolle…
  6. The Sox have multiple 1b options already in-house. While I suspect Lowe will get non-tendered, it’s not my decision. I’m no fan of Casas, but he isn’t dead yet. And Campbell is still in the picture. Instead of Alonso or trading for Ryan, would 31yo Ketel Marte (5 yrs $91mill) left be the smarter target? THE plus is he’s the best 2b in MLB with a reasonable deal for that honor. The minus is he’s apparently kind of whiny and seems to have fallen into disfavor with the Diamondbacks… Duran plus something minor (Jedixson Paez) for Marte and the contract of old friend Eduardo Rodriguez l(2yrs $46mill) works out on BTV..
  7. This is about 2026. Outside of Houck and maybe Fitts, all those other names will be back. Harrison just turned 24 and has 188 MLB IP to his name. He’s been below average but has time to improve. He will be in the 2026 starting pitcher picture at some point…
  8. A battle of two pitchers whose combined age is equal to Rich Hill’s
  9. What will it take for it to grow 3 sizes? And will that mean you get hospitalized with myocarditis, like the Grinch was in the unaired sequel?
  10. I think you’re overthinking this in your season-long campaign to unload Yoshida. I would expect Lowe to be non-tendered and Casas to resume 1b with Yoshida in the DH mix. Campbell is the wild card with no position to play…
  11. If Giolito returns, starting pitching does not look like any sort of priority for this team. Between him, Crochet, Bello, Dobbins, Crawford, Harrison, Tolle and possible Fitts, they seem to have depth. Certainly injuries and trades can alter this…
  12. Is Yoshida a more likely DFA than Casas?
  13. BTV still values Campbell. with a surplus value of &35mill. Not so much on Yoshida and his -$31mill surplus value…
  14. Except that one involves spending less money on someone that can potentially improve and the other involves spending more money on someone who is more likely to decline. Even bad early extensions are rarely prohibitive. Kristian Campbell may never be a star (he will be one), but even if he becomes an average player or a good super utility player, that’s how he’s being paid…
  15. It’s the most fun team to watch since 2018. That mean anything?
  16. He didn’t win your heart?
  17. Is there even a problem right now? The Sox have been on a torrid pace for the past 7 weeks. I think some folks got a bit worked up over those two losses to Baltimore. First - only two losses. Second, they did face one of the best pitchers in the AL in one game and then lost the second in extra innings. It’s not like they dropped both games 30-0 and Baltimore pulled all their entire starting lineup in the fourth inning and replaced them with the starting players’ children, most of whom are 6 and under and half of whom are girls, and the Sox were STILL overmatched…
  18. Offense is only half the game. It might be the more exciting half, but it’s still only half. And Rafaela only comes up 4 times in game. His lack of contributions is minimized by those around him in the lineup…
  19. Are we really attacking Rafaela by defending Wong with an OPS that has no place to go but up? Thats the textbook example of a rationalization. Unless his OPS is 0.000, it can go down…
  20. He did steal my dog and run over my girl. But that’s not the same…
  21. What’s wrong with JBJ Reincarnated? And when did JBJ die, as that is the necessary first step to being reincarnated? Are you really complaining that Rafaela has turned into a Gold Glove winning All Star and former ALCS MVP that posted roughly 18 bWAR in a 6 year stretch?
  22. There could be a cause-effect thing here. Maybe it’s such a nice stadium because it never gets trashed by large crowds of unruly fans…
  23. The proper saying is “theres no such thing as a bad minor league deal.” Not applicable to Mr. Chapman…
