  1. But how valuable is Garcias to Boston? With their current roster, they might not have a starting OF position available until 2030. Sure there will definitely be injuries in that time, but do you keep Garcia around for depth? Or avoid trading him in a potentially meaningful trade just so he can replace Refsnyder on the weak side of a platoon? He’s not available for just anyone but I think he has to be available…
  2. I assume these are ranked by how easy they will be fill? No .500 team has “backup catcher” as their biggest need….
  3. I was just giving BTV values. Tolle has a surplus value of $20 mill. Mullins has a surplus value of $2.3 mill. Minnesota might be willing to accept Mullins along with Sandlin and Duran, but that deal doesn’t work on the BTV model. Maybe it does work on how Minnesota evaluates players. No idea. But I also have my doubts…
  4. But would you give them Duran, Tolle and Sandlin for Joe Ryan? It’s not an unreasonable trade proposal…
  5. BTV gives Ryan a surplus value of $69.6 mill and Duran a surplus value of $39.5 mill. In order to make up that difference, the Red Sox would need to include something a long the lines of Peyton Tolle and David Sandlin. Not that I know what Minnesota would be interested in…
  6. If the Sox get a 1b and a RP, I will be satisfied. SP is tough to acquire in July…
  7. I think we both understand San Diego’s chances in 2025 - which they clearly have not surrendered - depend heavily on Cease. Rental or not, they won’t trade him unless they fall out of it. And if they do, they might suddenly be less interested in Duran…
  8. How many of them were even considered legitimate prospects back then?
  9. San Diego wants Duran, but not to the point of giving up Cease…
  10. Story has 3 years left ($96mii). Ozuna has 3 months left on his deal..
  11. Mostly because you have no clue how that tool works. (Hint : it creates a new thread for you when you use it.)
  12. I’m actually not so sure Milwaukee as any intentions of trading Peralta unless they get blown away. Peralta is also reportedly interested in extending…
  13. The Password is not likely to get a better pitcher than Pivetta. And any package for an ace caliber pitcher that includes him can easily be reworked without him. He’s not the main piece in any such deal…
  14. They might. Depends if Milwaukee is prioritizing the farm over the finances. Also if there is any interest in Hoskins. Also DD has a clear need in CF, and he did draft Duran and moved him to the OF. His current solution is a platoon of two fringey CFs in Marsh and Rojas. RF is manned by Defensive Disaster Area Nick Castellanos, but he is unmovable and his best position is DH, which is occupied in Philly. They do have defensive whiz Max Kepler, but they primarily play him in LF for reasons no one understands…
  15. MSN coverage on MLB is 95% clickbait. A Bregman’s opt out isnt as guaranteed as many think. He would make nearly $83million over the next two years if he stays, which is a lot of guaranteed coin to walk away from. While Bregman would likely prefer a longer deal, he did struggle to gain many offers this past offseason at age 31. He’s not likely to see longer (or even as long) offers at age 32. Even if he does opt out and become a free agent, Boston is still an option…
  16. I’d think they’d prefer to move the substantially more expensive and less controllable Hoskins. 4’5” Andrew Vaughn also has the superior StatCast page. i have a theory the primary reason theyre still starting Hoskins is they would prefer to move him…
  17. They have already acquired his replacement
  18. You think DD is going to hold a prospect? Especially one that plays a position a DD contract is blocking for the next 8 years?
  19. I suppose Philly could substitute 19yo CF Griffin Burkholder. Milwaukee deal could include a minor enticement like Jedixson Paez or Yordanny Monegro…
  20. I just don’t see the A’s taking on 6 players who will all require 40 man roster spots at some point while only giving up 3…
  21. Boston returns INF David Hamilton to Milwaukee for 1b Rhys Hoskins and the remainder of his contract. Hamilton pushes Platinum Glove winner Brice Turang back to SS and Joey Ortiz back to third since he’s clearly a bad shortstop. Boston sends Jarren Duran to Philly for RHSP Mick Abel. Philly sends SS prospect Aiden Miller to Pittsburgh, who sends SP Mitch Keller and his remaining $60+ million to Boston to complete the deal. BTV calls this deal a fair trade. Abel joins Fitts and Harrison in Worcester where they all vie to replace Walker Buehler in the rotation. Nate Eaton gets DFAd to clear a roster spot for Abel. C: Carlos Narvaez ($0.80M) 1B: Rhys Hoskins ($18.00M) 2B: Marcello Mayer ($0.80M) 3B: Alex Bregman ($25.00M) SS: Trevor Story ($22.50M) LF: Roman Anthony ($0.80M) CF: Ceddanne Rafaela ($1.25M) RF: Wilyer Abreu ($0.80M) DH: Masataka Yoshida ($18.60M) 4th OF: Rob Refsnyder ($2.25M) Utility: Abraham Toro ($0.80M) Utility: Romy Gonzalez ($0.80M) Backup C: Connor Wong ($0.80M) SP1: Mitch Keller ($15.4M) SP2: Walker Buehler ($21.05M) SP3: Brayan Bello ($2.66M) SP4: Garrett Crochet ($3.80M) SP5: Lucas Giolito ($19.00M) RP: Liam Hendricks ($6.00M) RP: Aroldis Chapman ($10.75M) RP: Garrett Whitlock ($5.50M) RP: Justin Wilson ($2.25M) RP: Greg Weissert ($0.80M) RP: Jordan Hicks ($12.50M) RP: Tanner Houck ($4.5M) RP: Brennan Bernardino ($0.80M) Payroll is 17.41% under budget
  22. True, but he kept both players.. If Story gets benched for Campbell, thats on Cora. Or Story…
