  1. Wilson? The volleyball from Cast Away? I’d go with Hicks first…
  2. No one can tell about Campbell’s just yet. But Vaughn Grissom might be buying him sometime given how he’s been crushing everything for the last 2 months…
  3. Two more years of control. Seems small right now, but it does matter…
  4. Yes. Useful as a pinch runner. Not so much as a starting. 2b, although at least he has the glovework for the role.
  5. Well, to be fair, Lee is 78 years old. Not even Gossage or Jamie Moyer were pitching at that age. The jury is still out on Rich Hill…
  6. Vs RHP - Duran in CF, Rafaela at 2b Vs LHP - Rafaela in CF, Romy at 2b If the Sox do get a full time 1b, they need a new platoon place for Romy anyway…
  7. Any job that involves predicting the future also involves being incorrect…
  8. But he is better than the other option of Hamilton, Sogard and Grissom, which is the point…
  9. If Mayer is out long term, it does make more sense to keep Duran in CF and Rafaela at 2b than to trade Duran and put David Hamilton on the field more often. But I suppose it all depends what Duran would get traded for…
  10. And only 941 career IP behind the plate. He strikes me as a future mainstay on the Injured List…
  11. The interesting fix might be 1b. Who are the candidates? Yandy Diaz is the clear best option IMO. I don’t buy into the whole “won’t trade within the division” angle. With balanced schedules and 3 wild cards, division races have become somewhat muted. Josh Naylor is a Mariner. Rhys Hoskins is injured. Ryan O’Hearn stopped hitting two months ago. Ty France stopped hitting two years ago. Josh Bell? At some point, it’s not an improvement over Toro/Romy. Carlos Santana? I suppose he’s still a target. Not sure he is an upgrade either. Who else is in play?
  12. MSN posted a clickbait article about a swap of Jarren Duran for RHSP Andrew Abbott. I don’t see Cincy going for it…
  13. Emmanuel Clase is on administrative leave connected to sports betting. Seth Lugo signed an extension with the Royals. Scratch those two names off your lists…
  14. The Rangers hot run has come at the expense of the A’s, Braves and Tigers. While the Tigers are normally tough, theyre in a massive funk right now going 1-12 over their past 13 games. (That one win - against Texas.) So why is it the Rangers can beat up on teams and be rolling, but when Boston does, its only because those other teams are struggling?
  15. But you will have to include Jhoan Duran in this deal. That way the Sox can just recycle Jarren’s jerseys. But on the bright side, the Twins can do the same thing! Jarren Duran for Jhoan Duran and Simeon Woodrich. I’d call it a win-win!!
  16. He has already removed the hyphen from his name. Maybe he’s amenable to taking out a few letters as well. Would it work for Henry if he went by Simeon Woodrich?
  17. Salas has also been out for over 2 months with a stress fracture in his back, attributed to possible overuse. Why would the Sox use one of their best trade chips on a rental pitcher and a 19yo catcher that already has back problems?
  18. With Mayer out, Duran becomes more valuable to Boston. No one prefers Rafaela at 2b instead of CF. But I would bet everyone prefers him at 2b and Duran in CF over Hamilton at 2b, Rafaela in CF, and Duran on the bench. Ok maybe not EVERYONE prefers the lineup with Duran over Hamilton. Opposing pitchers, for example, probably don’t…
  19. The Jays have the best record in the AL. Are they really flawless? The Tigers were looking like the darlings of the AL for over 3 months. They’re 1-12 in their last 13 games, including getting swept by Pittsburgh. Sure the Sox aren’t perfect. What team is?
  20. I like that take. As long as Mayer is back on time for that experience…
  21. I’d love to add Cease. But not for Duran. Maybe Sandlin? Possibly go as high as Early? Definite pass if the price is Arias, Tolle and maybe even Password…
  22. Absolutely. The Sox didnt soend a bunch of money to bring in Bregman and extend Crochet so they could continue building the farm. The arguments for selling are stupid at this point. The “can’t win it all” is meaningless. 29 teams won’t win it all this year. Should they all sell? I hate the arguments that they their roster doesn’t meet the requirements of the Magical Roster Formula. Like it’s just that simple. “Oh the Sox need a #2 starter.” Shut up! Yes they should improve their pitching. Every team in the postseason hunt is going to try that. But tell me what exactly is a “#2 starter”? And then tell me what team is thinking “we have a good #1 and #2 starter. We really need a #4.”
  23. He didn’t even take another one after he killed Godzilla. Dude make Cal Ripken look like a wimp…
