  1. That includes 41 games he played as a sub that resulted in only 24 plate appearances
  2. Mookie has options left. Maybe he gets sent down to make room for Pedroia...
  3. Much to your cxhagrin. Of course there is always another Holt DL stint or a Swihart DFA as a possibility. Or Swihart to the DL. All his bench time may have caused a hemorrhoid flare up...
  4. He plays. They win. It actually does work out even if he Ks three times.
  5. I was the typo king at BDC and I am working on re-claiming that title here...
  6. Actually, he is quite good at drawing walks. I was just into typing that up fast. He has 13 and 5 HBP...
  7. Well Bradley former get a lot of his, But when he gets one he does score. 21 hits, 20 runs scored. While hitting in front of Betts helps, Bradley is certainly benefiting more than the catching duo. Maybe if Bradley got 8 more empty hits a month, ones where he was left on base. Maybe then fans would like him more. ..
  8. OK. So we can trade Swihart for Bartolo Colon and then demote him. Colon easily takes up two roster spots...
  9. Page 1 was a lot of Edwin Starr jokes, But after that the criticisms of it start. ..
  10. And you went put that awful wedding dance in my head now...
  11. No. He Needs to be a hitter to really find a way to stick. I always liked him as a prospect, but in MLB today most players have a very brief window to develop and stick, And if they can't do it, there is always someone younger and quicker and less injured trying to take your place. That said, I could see some faltering team giving him a decent shot in RF. That might be the position he fits into best...
  12. Well, bear in mind the thread title we are posting on...
  13. But the difference here on TalkSox is it's a debate you might be able to win.
  14. So does that make us the Floyd Mayweather and Colin McGregor of TalkSox? If so, you're McGregor...
  15. It wasn't about obligation; it was a simple debate on a message board. We both had opposing sides and I tried to alter your view of mine. But then, that's how debates work...
  16. And here is the Backfire Effect, but with a twist. I'm actually trying to explain these concepts and there relevance and how to use them to enhance the game whole deliberately not sounding like a know-it-all. But my perception has been that you and others are actually the know-it-all's and don't want to hear any of it. Odd comical twist to the debate...
  17. I bet you get fan mail in your inbox when you say stuff like that to me. I know I get it when I say stuff like that to you...
  18. Any reason you think the Sox won't just demote Bobby Poyner? They've already done it once this year...
  19. If you go by fWAR, the Sox have the second best bullpen in the AL, behind NY. If yo go by ERA they are fourth best, behind Houston, NY and Toronto. Houston has fewer fWAR because the bullpen has pitched roughly 25% fewer innings. Toronto has a better ERA but less fWAR because their team ERA in the bullpen is a mirage. The Jays' relievers are walking more, striking out less and giving up more home runs that the Sox relievers. Their better bullpen ERA won't last if they keep pitching this poorly...
  20. I want to disagree with that lineup, but I can't figure out a better way. Except maybe flipping 7 and 8, but that's just nitpicking and probably inconsequential...
  21. Extend him now!!! Give him the Wakefield contract!!
  22. No. He does have a crazy high BABIP considering his hitting profile. Since he is still hitting line drives/groundballs/flyballs at roughly his career rates, it should unfortunately normalize for him at some point...
  23. His swing doesm't look different to me. I keep wondering if it's an eyesight issue. But then that is one of those things I assume he has had checked by now...
  24. His offense was so abysmal that series. Let's let his defense be brilliant. He needs that much...
  25. Well, I guess accusing and deflecting would be easier than actually answering the questions I keep posing in this debate...
