  1. DFA or DL. Anything he can be traded for, Sox fans shouldn't want...
  2. Christian Vazquez is a backup catcher. Everyone raved about his defense before he started hitting .226. The truth is, while he is good defensively, he isn't and never was an amazing game changer that many praised him for being. (No catcher is defensively; it's not a big deal.) The truth is, he is closer to Jose Molina than Yadier. And always was. Leon is having a terrific year and will continue to do so as long as that .473 BABIP can last...
  3. Really Vizquel and Roberto Alomar was about as good as it ever got.
  4. Also, notin said it. No cred here? I mean, you aren't even certain if Herzog said it. You KNOW I did....
  5. I prefer he go, but then I never wanted him in Boston.
  6. But the problem there is the bullpen, not the manager. A good bullpen can make any manager look like a genius. But that doesn't mean having a bad bullpen makes the manager an idiot...
  7. By "dropped 15 pounds", they mean he spilled his plate of lasagna. Yes, I am not above these type of jokes...
  8. Nice!!! While I agree Farrell is no game-changer and does make questionable calls, he's not killing this team. You mean this board doesn't have an unreasonable lynch mob?
  9. Not to mention, every bad start by Pomeranz just further drives home how poorly Dombrowski has used his trade resources. The Sox certainly could have gotten something better than this...
  10. I think Sam Travis will need to get healthy first before anyone re-arranges the infield to accommodate him...
  11. Frank White was better...
  12. Vazquez strikes me as a prototypical back up catcher. He's much closer to being Jose Molina than to being Yadier. If the Sox ever put Swihart back at catcher, he could be the future. But the present right now is BABIP machine Sandy Leon. Leon's stellar season might even make Vazquez expendable, although he won't be worth what he was two years ago....
  13. Dombrowski wasn't hired to replace Ben; he was hired to replace Lucchino. Whether or not Lucchino was fired is up for debate. While he was immensely unpopular, he is also ovet 70 and quite well off. As President of Operations, Dombrowski exercised his prerogative to perform many of the duties normally performed by the GM. This did not sit well with Cherington, who promptly quit.
  14. Maybe, but human's and their observations can be far more limited...
  15. Weird. A 72 page thread about Farrell and it's NOT rife with individual moments of someone interjecting a questionable decision (with far more information that the poster) the manager made as proof positive of his incompetence, and then supported with the poster interjecting "I was yelling at my TV at the time!!" in order to prove the criticism wasn't being made solely in hindsight....
  16. It makes me feel like a wildling over here
  17. Benintendi has impressed, but the likelihood of all four of the Sox blue chippprospects panning out isn't all that great. As Dombrowski has a history indicating dealing elite prospects is something he is far from afraid of doing, which from the set of Moncada, Devers, Espinoza and Benintendi do you expect to be moved? And which ones do you think SHOULD be moved, if any?
  18. My first post at the new forum. ..
