  1. For those of you scoring at home, I’m on yet another “Ignore” list, giving me a slight lead on the site. Official standings should be posting soon…
  2. 5Gold is a clown and has a predilection for puns, but if he fits your definition of a troll, you might need to redefine it. At his worst, Hes Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. And nobody hates Triumph…
  3. I want the original, but I did keep it going. I did start the rhyming stuff…
  4. First of all, let’s not confuse “losing a year” with “not gaining a year.” They’re not the same thing at all. I think the Sox are more interested in Anthony succeeding rather than struggling just to prolong his free agency, especially since he’s very likely to reach Super Two status and gain an arb year anyway even if he does figure in ROY balloting. But more important, if he’s good enough to figure in ROY voting now despite being over 2+ full WAR behind leader Jacob Wilson, he can and should help the Sox win some games. And that is their primary goal - winning, not managing Roman Anthony’s career. And it’s beyond presumptuous to assume just because he’s the #1 prospect - a credential he shares with Andrew Benintendi and Daisuke Matsuzaka - automatically makes him a candidate for ROY….
  5. They’ll demote Hamilton. My guess is Cora will start Anthony in LF platooning with Refsnyder, Duran in CF everyday, and Abreu in RF platooned with Rafaela. Also Mayer gets platooned at 3b with Romy. But Story plays everyday! And every time Cora does this, I will stick another pin into my Alex Cora bobble head…
  6. Ruin the return? You keep telling us how awful Duran is! If BTV value is accurate, Duran should command a good return. While Duran has more surplus value than Andrew Painter, I would be shocked if DD included him. He wanted Painter in the rotation last year. The Bleacher Report proposed Painter plus 17yo catching prospect Eduardo Tait (BA #93). BTV called it an overpay. I call it a Pipe Dream. But I could see a deal for RHSP Mick Abel, Tait, and 20yo AA SS Aidan Miller (BA #36)…
  7. I don’t think any deal of Duran or Abreu is even possible until Abreu returns from the IL…
  8. The Bleacher Report (slogan: More accurate than The Onion!) suggests Philly would deal Andrew Painter for Duran. While BTV gives Duran the higher surplus value, I don’t see Philly doing it. Maybe Mick Abel, but not Painter..
  9. I’d rather bench Story or include him in the Duran package…
  10. The shaggy look hurts him because all you hear in the stands is “Jayson Werth needs a shower.”
  11. You did read my posts this off-season. Add to their reasons, Philly might be learning there’s a good chance Brandon Marsh isn’t very good…
  12. I wouldn’t imagine any deals will happen for at least 4 weeks, if at all…
  13. Dodgers? Conforto can’t hit anything. If he fell off a cliff, he wouldn’t hit the ground…
  14. Did I mention the omelette contained Feta cheese and pineapple?
  15. The end results are fine for now. Devers is raking at DH. Toro is producing. But a few eggs were broken making this omelette…
  16. I thought I was responding to a post about Anthony, but I suppose it could have been about Campbell…
  17. Depends on how he does. With only a handful of at bats, it’s certainly too early to make a call either way. But we saw it happen with Jackson Holliday last year, and many have pointed out maybe it should with Campbell this year, even after his stellar April…
  18. I actually am not a fan of that plan. I know you proposed platooning/rotating Duran and Rafaela in CF, but Duran is really not much of an OF. Hes the guy I wanted grabbing a 1b mitt for this reason. I can’t imagine SD will be the only team interested. Duran is coming off an incredible season, and really didnt hit that much early on last year. His current OPS is roughly where he ended last May. If he has a similar hot streak in the near future, combined with his salary and arb status/years of control, he could be worth a lot in a trade…
  19. Trading Duran is the best option IMO as well. Not sure why it wasn’t done this off-season, probably due to focusing more on moving Abreu. But there is interest now, albeit from a depleted San Diego organization…
  20. I know he’s not interested now, but at some point in the next 6 years the Sox could extend him and make that point moot. Unless the Sox clear a spot for him, or Abreu is seriously hurt, chances are against Anthony finishing anywhere near that high…
  21. I was on te short list with you advocating for dealing Duran. I don’t know if they tried, but clearly no deal was found. But give Duran SOME credit. He was g timing off an 8.7 bWAR season. Thats MVP level stuff (the award, not you). He could “decline” and still put up 6 bWAR. Duran’s worst season since 2022? Duran played 58 GAMES in 2022! Also Duran has 1.6 bWAR already in 2025, clearly ahead of the pace to pass his 2.2 bWAR in 2023. So really, he’s having his worst season since 2024. Who isnt? Sure Anthony has a ceiling of MVP level play, but Duran has that in his past…
  22. Did you have a point? I fail to see any issue here. Earlier this eeek, the Giants lost key player Matt Chapman for a but, probably not long. But they called Christian Koss, a career minor leaguer and one-time Sox farmhand. Yeah. Exciting. The Sox see injuries to Alex Bregman and Wilyer Abreu, and instead of calling up a career minor leaguer or AAAA player (like they had to for Casas), they call up two of the top ten prospects in MLB. This is a good thing. How is this a roster construction issue?
  23. Right. The whole thing went down smoothly and thankfully John Henry didn’t have to get involved…
