    I’m not even sure who the admins are, besides YOTN. And I’m actually not even sure about him. It’s one thing to complain about Yankee trolls. I tried posting on a Yankee board once was back on ESPN with a comment that was critical of a player but explicitly baseball-related. And I found myself immediately banned for failure to perform Pinstriped Fellatio. Ever since then, I’m all for banning blatant Yankee trolls. But complaining about Sox posters or even respectable yet misguided Yankee fans? It’s a Red Sox board! It’s incomplete without some Yankee presence! And I am ok with all Sox fans, whether I agree with them or not... S

    I Even if the Sox avoided all the available closers - which they did - that doesn’t mean you have to avoid every major league relief pitcher in the market. There were plenty of good non-closer’s available. And some still are...

    He’s already been demoted. Teams are now allowed to call up a 26th player for double headers. (New rule this year.) That was why he got the call in the first place...

    But then fans are getting worked up over Chatham to the point of switching his position based on his insanely unsustainable .435 BABIP and crazy low FB rate that is carried by a high amount of infield pop ups. Chatham’s best skill is his glove, which would be best utilized at more a difficult position like SS. It’s not uncommon to see glove-first and glove-only shortstops. How often do you see a glove-only second baseman?

    The question with Porcello isn’t “does he merit an extension?” The Sox have thrown around enough of those and have two big looming questions ahead of him. The question is - does he merit a qualifying offer? While the QO skill very likely represent more a higher AAV than Porcello will get as a free agent, it’s only a one year deal. And as Porcello will still be only 30 this off-season, his chances of landing a multi year deal decrease rapidly with each passing season...

    Hanley Ramirez is a free agent. Sure his 65 OPS+ doesn’t look enticing, but it’s double Steve Pearce’s...

    Bradley’sow defensive metrics aren’t a result of ability, but more likely a result of opportunity. Currently he ranks 19th (out of 23 qualifying CFs) in total plays. And only one CF with fewer opportunities has a slightly better defensive rank, probably due to a higher percentage of his plays being out of zone. If a player is simply not as involved defensively, then he isn’t going to rank as highly as players who are more involved. But even those Rick solid believable offensive stats work this way...

    Duran is in A ball. Let’s not hand him starting roles yet. The Sox will still have Vazquez in 2020. I do think that unless massive changes occur in how this team is playing, Bradley is definitely trade bait come July. The bigger question will be finding a partner to make a worthwhile deal. And that also leaves the question - who else is trade bait? Certainly Porcello, and Holt and Nunez, assuming either is healthy. Should the Sox consider moving Martinez and hope he opts out do they can re-sign him? What about Price? I’m sure the bullpen is available, except maybe Barnes. ERod? Anyone else?

    Eh. Do they even need to? We’re getting throttled by tanking teams...

    No doubt DD’s complacency this off-season was an issue. But then, his past has always been building bullpens closer-down with a lot of experimentation, guesswork, and frugality. He’s had successes that way, but also a fair amount of failures, notably with Detroit...

    He’s also going to have to do better than a 6.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP in AAA ball if he wants to avoid pitching for cheap money...
