  1. Dodgers? Rockies? Rangers? Or what about other AL teams needing an upgrade at DH? And then there are injuries that might create new voids...
  2. And all they gave up for Encarnacion in the first place was the more expensive contract of Carlos Santana..
  3. I’d actually say his curveball is his best pitch...
  4. Well, that’s the one and only reasonable solution. Stupidity is always a possibility...
  5. The Sox can always trade him and then re-sign him after the season. And he won’t even cost them a draft pick ...
  6. Throw in Justus Sheffield and either Shed Long or Jarred Kelenic and I’ll pass the message along to DD myself...
  7. It’s possible that was the plan all along...
  8. Ooooh! A pre-emptive strike for the defense!!
  9. So... you’re saying everyone will be level-headed and not reactionary and above all, remember the last 3 years over the current one?
  10. The White Sox are right behind Boston and may not go into seller mode. The Pirates, while likely out of it, could easily want a hefty package for Vazquez that simply might be unaffordable to Boston. With our limited prospects, the Sox might be better focusing on relievers like Shane Greene and Mychal Givens (who is a good pitcher but having a rough season)...
  11. I dare you to start it...
  12. Fans? Sure. Dombrowski? Think so?
  13. Agreed. All that’s missing is Buzzfeed for the trifecta of unsubstantiated sensational news...
  14. I bet it hasn’t even been discussed...
  15. They do seem to be relying less on Brasier...
  16. It’s the stuff Belichick doesn’t say that has the most significance...
  17. Other than selling low on Benintendi, which of those players will bring back a “useful piece”? Even with his recent hot streak, Bradley still has miserable season-long Numbers, an $8.9mill salary, and one year left to earn even more money via arbitration. The Sox might consider moving Porcello, who is their best chance at getting anything worthwhile...
  18. I didn’t want Kimbrel back on a 6 year deal, but a 3 year deal would have been fine with me...
  19. Well if losing your backup point guard doesn’t offset the loss of Durant then I don’t know what does...
  20. Well, it’s different for me since I’m surrounded by Cubs’ fans...
  21. Kimbrel was great for Boston. But he moved on from us and me from him. I’d no sooner root for a former Sox player just because than I would attend an ex-girlfriend’s wedding...
  22. You keep re-iterating that 2 run single line, as if a 2 run single and a 2 run home run come from the same circumstances. How about a 2 run single and a 3 run home run?
  23. So infield singles should count the same as HRs?
  24. Batting average doesn’t reflect contact, and certainly does quantify the value of the contact. And maybe it’s time to abandon the notion that a .300 hitter is some sort of revered feat. Joey Wendle and Corey Dickerson hit .300 last year. Jose Ramirez didn’t. Why do we attach a special accomplishment to Wendle or Dickerson? Are they better hitters than Ramirez?
  25. That’s actually not all that impressive. I know the Sox had lower top picks, but the only time they came up with at least an even share was in the Fangraphs Top 200...
