  1. It’s not so bad when you can still remember some rings. Plural...
  2. I wonder when you’ll realize every time you tell us how Sale is done, every time you get excited over his “death nail” contract, every time you predict the harbinger that is his future... Luis Severino has another setback. Did you just hear that? That little “thwack” noise off in the distance? Sounded like tendon snapping...
  3. So we all good? Postseason back on again?
  4. Springer isn’t even the best player on the Astros...
  5. Springer over Trout? By any chance, do you play Fantasy Baseball for money?
  6. Stop trying to divert your blame...
  7. We know that. We meant the reason besides you...
  8. Yeah I don’t think they can go buy another starter. I do agree they non-tender Bradley and let everyone who’s a free agent walk without a QO. (Except maybe Brock Holt.) I don’t think they sign any free agent except possibly someone on a bounce back deal. Candidates include Hector Rondon,Scooter Gennett, Jedd Gyorko, Juan Lagares, Homer Bailey...
  9. They are, and pitching is worse across the board. But the Sox offense doesn’t appear as dazed as their pitching because they’re facing a baseball that’s more like a racquetball...
  10. It’s been one year. Diaz and Kremer are in their top ten per MLB.com. Valera was a 26yo utility infielder who was probably only included to free up a spot on the 40 man roster
  11. Exactly. But when your headline relievers include names like Ryan Brasier and Chad Fox, you’re not assembling a bullpen committee; you’re spending as little as possible and hoping it all works out somehow...
  12. Fans don’t like it, but closer by committee does make a lot of sense. Unfortunately what Sox fans have seen from it twice is “don’t spend money and just dump anyone in the bullpen,” with the latter half of that “plan” being the most notable. But if the Yankees rotated saves between Chapman, Ottavino, Britton, Holder, Green, and Kahnle, I don’t think the concept would be so readily questioned...
  13. What makes the most sense is dealing him this off-season. Better return and increases likelihood of a reset, which makes bringing Mookie back easier...
  14. You left out the biggest factor - under 30...
  15. Manfred Misssile?
  16. Why? Those kind of addendums are exactly what the CBA is supposed to prevent - more spending room for wealthier teams...
  17. That dead horse has already been beaten into oblivion. There’s no chance he retires...
  18. We all get that,. And the rotation has been awful. But building a team around the rotation shouldn’t mean ignoring the bullpen. And watching the rotation flounder and struggle also shouldn’t mean you ignore any struggles in the bullpen...
  19. No. He was not a free agent...
  20. They’re replacing his kneecap with grape jelly...
  21. System or not, bottom line is identifying talent...
  22. I think the point is not to sign the best players demanding six year contracts...
  23. The bullpen has definite weaknesses, and was built on too many snap judgments. The failure to get another reliever at any point this season has been a huge problem. The only relievers to pitch for the Sox this year who wasn’t part of last year’s World Series team are Colten Brewer and Ryan Weber. Yes THOSE are the pitchers replacing Kimbrel and Kelly...
  24. Brasier and Walden are career minor leaguers. Eventually reality was bound to cartch up..,
