See, some of us thought that to be the major moment of Steinbrenner Hypocrisy when coupled with The George's rant after the ending of the 2005 season on how the Rangers, who were playing for nothing, were supposed to their final game seriously against the Angels. But Showalter did not and played his B Team in a game with postseason implications, and it would up costing the Yankees a home series against the Angels (who then later bounced them).
The irony, of course, was that the Yankees actually controlled their own fate that year, but also played their B Team against the Red Sox in the final game and got smoked. But that didn't stop Steinbrenner from ranting against Showalter and the Rangers. And sent a clear message that George expected other teams to take games with post-season implications seriously, but the Yankees did not have to.
So I harbor no ill will against Andino for doing his job...
