Funny Canseco steroid story. Back in 2001, I sued to go to a lot of White Sox games, because tickets were cheap and remarkably easy to get. Sometimes, we wound up sitting in the RF seats back back when the decks were so steep it was literally like climbing a ladder to get from row to row. But hey, twelve dollars. I went with my wife, who is legally blind (some vision has been restored since 2001). The only player she could recognize from the RF seats was Jose Canseco, because he was simply that much bigger than everyone else on the field. I thought "THAT should be the steroid test. If my wife can recognize you from 350 feet away by the size of the blur, you are CLEARLY on steroids."

He is an extremely clean, and extremely funny stand up comedian. If you have Netflix, he has about 5 or 6 specials streaming there. He is also a contributor to CBS Sunday Morning. And recently, during the quarantine, he has been streaming "Dinner with the Gaffigans" on Youtube where you can watch weirdness of him having dinner with his wife and 5 young children...

It depends. His salary does drop by about $4mill after this season. If they play actual baseball and he still has it, he’s walking away from 2 years and $38.7 mill. He might be able to top that in free agency...

Who are some famous folks or celebrities you were surprised to find out were Division 1 college athletes or maybe even professional athletes? I think my two most surprising ones were Joel McHale, who played football for University of Washington, and Jim Gaffigan, who played football at Purdue. Any other names?

To heap on the irony, I’ve always suspected that a big part of the reason they went after Castillo was due to the inability of Jackie Bradley to hit at that stage of his career. Of course, Castillo’s biggest problem was Dombrowski never liked him. While most definitely would have made an MLB team and possibly started. There are plenty of worse outfielders in MLB...
