Here in Chicago, we had that Jackie Robinson West Little League team that made a big splash in the Little League World Series 6 years ago, until someone discovered the kids were recruited from out of region. I will never figure out why someone would want to cheat to try to win the Little League World Series. After that team was disqualified, Cardinal Blaise Cupich of Chicago tried to speak out in favor of the team by comparing them to the Super Bowl Champion Patriots, who had their own scandal, with Cardinal Cupich saying "Both teams cheated and only one was disqualified. As far as I can tell, the only difference is one team is black." Which leads to a few interesting questions: 1) Had Cupich ever seen the Patriots? Yes, Brady, Gronkowski and Edelman were not black, but they did have other players. Lots of them. 2) Is he really trying to justify cheating by saying "But someone else did it?"
