  1. Less of one of only two players in MLB history to win ROY, MVP, a Silver Slugger, a Gold Glove, and an All Star selection in his first two seasons? Sign me up!
  2. Great. So she was not only a serial killer, but an obnoxious one at that. No wonder she was executed…
  3. Ed Gein was a quiet chap. Albert Fish and Ted Bundy were known for their respective charm. Holmes was an a-hole and Gacy (who apparently operated not far from my current domicile) was very outspoken and belligerent. I used to work with a guy who worked with Paul Runge (the serial killer, not the former Braves infielder) and he did relate that Paul was one of those quiet types…
  4. They do it in their promotional videos…
  5. Exactly. You can’t step out of the batters box, but the entire infield can do a 30 second synchronized line dance while the CF charges into to throw a pitch while vaulting over the pitcher’s head…
  6. And done it without facing the Red Sox strikeout-heavy lineup…
  7. Maybe but Early Bridge didn’t really make as much sense as a pun…
  8. Banana Ball has to have some extreme rules to speed up the game in order to squeeze in all that dancing…
  9. The big surprise there is the team has pants that fit him. Just some standard 32” waist 96” in-seam, I guess. And he pitches! And every hitter facing him doesn’t automatically bunt!!
  10. MLB needs to avoid the Golden Batter Rule at all costs. It’s proof there is no God…
  11. That’s why baseball is 90% mental and only 50% physical…
  12. Any time the infield fly rule is applicable, the hitter is awarded a ground rule double instead. Or is that too much? I’d hate to see MLB get all gimmicky and make some radical change like starting extra innings with a runner already on second base…
  13. Ive come to grips with Dustin May’s role on this team possibly limited to being a placeholder for some of the Sox more advanced pitching prospects. He just needs to log sufficient IP until at least one is ready for a call up. It helps to think of him as a Tolle Bridge…
  14. The Brewers, who have been the hottest team in MLB for several weeks now, spent their trade deadline allowance on RHRP Shelby Miller, who just came off the IL, and LHSP Jordan Montgomery, who has missed and will continue to miss all of 2025. This was possibly not only the worst deadline among contributors this year, It might be the worst one for a contender in several seasons…
  15. The 0.2 seconds or so in which a hitter had to decide whether or not to swing might not be as long as you think…
  16. Nick Burdi is 32 years old. His 5.1 IP for Boston this season is only 4.1 IP shy of his MLB career high. His 24 IP in Worcester this year is his highest total at any level since 2015. I think we can view Burdi as like a shell discharged in action at this point. Rehab or not, he’s pretty much at his physical limit
  17. We all learned it was weird in the 2003 ALCS; Sox won the 3 games started by Wakefield and Burkett but lost all 4 started by Pedro and Derek Lowe..
  18. The downside to bunting Manfred Mann over to third is the Sox do strikeout a lot. Sac bunt followed by a strikeout, and you have a runner on third with 2 outs and still haven’t scored. The reason to play for two runs on the road is not because you think the opposition is going to score twice, but rather because you believe they will score once. Score 2 while they score one? Like it or not, it is a strategy built on winning rather than on prolonging games…
  19. So do hits that sure-handed fielders either no range cannot get to…
