  1. Hoppe throws hard, so he intrigues some teams with weak pitching in the upper minors. But in Boston, he was far down on the depth chart, Boston had every opportunity to protect him or, at a minimum, not trade him. They chose not to try to keep him, most likely due to control/command issues…
  2. Seattle gave up last year’s 14th round pick for a 27yo AAA pitcher. Not sure anyone in this deal is flying anywhere, let alone under the radar…
  3. Except their Abreu trade (for 2months of Christian Vazquez) is already among their better ones…
  4. You did say “have No idea what Duran would bring back. So far nothing.”
  5. So Duran is worthless in a trade because so far, he ha brought back nothing? Let’s live by that logic. All the cash in your wallet is worthless, because so far it’s brought you back nothing. And as it’s worthless, feel free to give it to me for nothing. Then we can start talking about those worthless bank accounts…
  6. But BTV doesn't tell you whether or not teams want them…
  7. If they liked RBI, O’Neill was a really bad choice. 31Hrs but only 61 RBIs . He drove in himself more than all his teammates combined. That’s not easy to do…
  8. Really? The 3 WAR outfielder with 2 GGs and 25 HR pop is the least desirable? Either I’m overrating him or teams like Rafaela more than I expected…
  9. I want to beat Bobby Flay…
  10. Yes, which is why you fit in here so well…
  11. I will get off that high horse. Apologies…
  12. But only because Panic at the Disco! dropped the ball by not using it first…
  13. Duran for a #2 starter as a standalone deal makes no sense. Any team acquiring Duran wants to get better now. Teams trying to get better now do not deal their #2 starter. A third team is a necessity…
  14. Hold out for Riley Greene and the rights to all Motown proceeds…
  15. I had no idea Billie Eilish hated John Henry…
  16. Is this sarcasm? It could go either way..
  17. What is Skubal’s incentive to extend? All he has to do is stay healthy and the bidding war is going to break records for pitchers. And even if he misses all of 2026, he probably still gets a QO and at his age, serious bidding starts a year later…
  18. More like Early plus either Tolle or Arias plus another. For one year of Skubal. Worth it if you can extend Skubal, but thats no guarantee since it is Skubal’s decision. If he won’t extend, it’s not exactly unheard of. The Yankees, Orioles and Cubs all made blockbuster deals for Soto, Burns, and Tucker respectively only to watch each reach free agency after one year. Probably not what any of them hoped for, but it shows it’s not as easy as filling out a few forms to extend a player…
  19. I refuse to label any individual current member as “unlikely”, and solely because being on the Sox trumps being on the Sox wishlist. I do think one of Duran or Abreu moves, but I cannot tell you which one, so both are individually likely starters, while the pair is unlikely. Rafaela is definitely likely to start, despite not being among your favorites (which is ok. Obvious, but ok.) Breslow brought in a reigning Gold Glove 3b for up to 3 years at the highest AAV in team history, and left the decision to stay up to the player. That doesn’t sound like a makeshift 3b while Devers heals to me. Plus Cora reportedly wanted Devers to start at 3b in April with Bregman at 2b. So how much did any injury really affect the decision to move Devers off third?
  20. I think it’s more likely they deal one of the starters plus Garcia. But he might get offers he simply cannot refuse. Rafaela is probably the least likely to be dealt, since the Sox have shown they do put some value on defense. If they didn’t, Devers would still be here butchering 3b…
  21. Some clickbaits link the Sox to Schwarber, but they’re no more reliable than our posts. Supposedly Cora wanted Yoshida in the OF last year, and that was probably the driving force behind him just sitting out rather than DHing in Worcester. I would bet heavily against Boston signing Schwarber, primarily because the Sox have only two returning starting infielders (three if you count Casas) with legitimate durability concerns. Schwarber does nothing to alleviate this issue, which is something you can’t say about Bregman and Alonso, which is probably a good reason to focus on those two first. Ketel Marte also fills a void, but that is more difficult to make happen (at least for me, since Hazen still won’t return my calls). But if the Sox are getting interest on both Abreu and Duran, with enough interest they potentially could move both. That opens up a corner OF spot for Campbell, Garcia, Yoshida, or possibly another acquisition. They might even give Campbell or Garcia (or both) chances and fix it at the deadline if it isn’t working out. Really it comes down to what they can get for each. If the Sox still had Bloom or Cherington, dealing both to bolster the farm would be more likely. Not really sure Breslow acts similarly, but he might get an offer for each he simply cannot refuse…
  22. Are we certain the Sox are not confident in Campbell in LF?
