  1. "This genetic mutation is brought to you by T Mobil. And the letter Q..."
  2. And yet the Twins were drawing 3 million fans as long ago as 1988...
  3. A .700 OPS cutoff for the starting lineup is unrealistic. And if the Sox did institute it, you'd have to work even harder to find your complaints...
  4. The Philadelphia have not been known for doing anything in the interest of the Twins, their fans, or MLB
  5. It would reduce the amount available to pay Byron Buxton to sit on the Injured List. When did tire Twins go broke? They sold off everything to reduce overhead and make the team more salable, but that’s not the same as being broke…
  6. It’s never nice to be in Cincinnati, be it indoors, outdoors, March, August, summer, winter, etc…
  7. And every pitch Joe Ryan throws for them is a risk that he will tear a ligament and unceremoniously end his time in Minnesota….
  8. I am not sure if it’s even selling low. His contract still makes him valuable. A small market team especially would love to have him for 7 years at his price tag. He’s only spent a few weeks in AAA this year. I wouldn’t put much stock in his performance either way just yet. I think he’s proven more than the doubts he has created offensively. Hes not a bench player and not a minor leaguer. He has never had a position, which is an issue. It would be nice if he could solve 2b, but he’s more likely to go to 1b…
  9. Hell no. I think you might be overvaluing Ryan…
  10. Kody is AAAA material…
  11. Minnesota (where I am right now) would be stupid to turn down that offer. The only reason they might be hesitant is they prefer players with more control than Duran, but that’s a weak reason, since he’s easily movable himself. BTV gives that package between $120-125 mill in surplus value, which is just shy of the surplus value of Paul Skenes ($133mill). While I doubt Pitt bites (or trades Skenes at all), it’s still a solid return for anyone…
  12. Whether or not he fits in Boston has no bearing on his trade value, just on his availability. It also helps that he is signed for utility infielder money for the next 8 years. Hes certainly tradable, but it would be better for Boston to play him…
  13. So a 23yo who has absolutely raked in at every level and was the AL Rookie of the Month his first month in the league, and only a year ago won Eastern League MVP, Minor League Player of the Year, Breakout Prospect of the Year, and a few other award. But then he struggled in MLB for a few weeks so he’s worthless now? I mean, you’re right he is TWENTY THREE…
  14. I said that from 2021 to 2023. I also think it applies to Fitts…
  15. I’m willing to wager Cora doesn’t rest players to keep them from playing grueling defense and standing around; he rests players do bench players can play and be ready when needed. I know it’s the mission of many fans to squeeze 162 games out of every star player, but Cora will not do that; Hes going to keep those 3 non-catcher bench players fresh no matter how hard you try to eliminate the option. And using the DH role to “rest” players is like using the closer role for tired SP…
  16. So the problem Cora HAS to play Yoshida and not Cora WANTS to play Yoshida? Could you kindly post thr email in which Cora disclosed this to you?
  17. A GM who gets nothing wrong is a GM who’s not trying hard enough…
  18. Campbell was as good after 4 games as Lowe has been. Campbell on the bench is a waste. Play him or trade him. As for pitching”little regard for defense”, as written your plan involves rotating 4 outfielders through the DH role, and right now that includes Rafaela and Abreu, neither of whom are easily replaced in the field. This ignores another big problem, which is that DH is a position, and not a place to rest starters. Especially since Cora’s rest program is not solely about keeping players from playing defense
  19. 1. Prove himself over Mayer? Not like hes being replaced by Jose Altuve. Fairly certain Mayer has plenty to prove as well, like can he go 26 weeks without getting hurt. 2. Honestly, I’d wait. But we both know that unless Lowe wins WS MVP, he’s probably getting non-tendered because he will make some $10-12 mill more than Casas. (Me? I trade or non-tender Casas.) 3. I said trades are BEST used for acquiring. Frankly this is where you’re trying to shoehorn 5 players into 4 positions with little regard for defense. I would think the best OF is Anthony (LF), Rafaela (CF) Abreu/Ghost in RF. (I’m sticking with Ghost until it catches on.) Yoshida/Romy at DH works, since DH is the one position where platoons make sense. And after Sale and Story the ladt two years, simply giving up on the players struggling with injury in order to shoehorn players into the DH makes no sense to me. As for pitching, bullpen is the big need. I doubt Cease has struggled to the point of taking a pillow contract. GMs have long memories, too. I think Gio has some options and Sandoval is back next season. Chapman? Re-sign or replace.
  20. Let’s skip the posts wher I just say “No.” And you comment about conversation. Here are some issues 1. Campbell on the bench. He wasn’t signed for 8 years to be a bench player. 2. Why extend Lowe when he is controlled for another year? Washington didnt DFA him for being overly talented. No need to rush here and give away other players to accommodate a player that just got released by a horrible team. 3. Trades are best used for acquiring, not unloading. The premature contract for Lowe was likely to get him at a discounted price, a feat that is negated and then some by paying Yoshida to play elsewhere. Not to mention giving away all your trade assets to then buy pitching. 4. Replacing Yoshida with an outfield rotation in itself is a bad idea, considering two of those outfielders cannot hit lefties. It would be much easier to simply trade Duran and Casas for pitching…
  21. Actually Cora is the analytics department. It’s a really big part of why he was hired…

  23. My Cubs fan daughter think he is a lock for AL Comeback Player of the Year. Bo Bichette might have a better argument …
  24. Seriously? His addiction to platoons without regards for players splits seems to be enough, but then it can get coupled with his occasional prioritization of platoon bats over defense. Is having Nate Eaton in the OF an advantage or disadvantage over just playing Lowe at 1b?
