  1. They may not want to play. They know Betts was traded. They know Sale is out for the year. They know ERod is having problems. The Sox had no intention of competing this season. None. And these three and all the others on the team are aware. So no one cares about these slumps. And it turns out, 2020 is a good year to tank. They’re not going to try to trade Benintendi and Devers. They might dangle Martinez. And maybe Pillar and Bradley. Definitely Workman. Don’t expect this to be a normal season. Henry, Bloom, Roenicke - none care about winning in 2020. The only possible bright spot so far - maybe they found something useful in Zack Godley...
  2. Right. Bloom seems like a really complacent guy. That’s why we still have Betts..
  3. Why keep players just because their homegrown? Workman and Bradley are two homegrown potential free agents. Barnes is also homegrown.
  4. Prediction: Workman and Barnes are the only two shipped out...
  5. For that to happen, Texas is going to need to turn things around. Otherwise Lance Lynn is the top starter available at the deadline...
  6. He’s not reliable enough to be counted on for 2+ seasons. When was the last time Eovaldi made all his starts in 2 consecutive season? (He made 60 starts in 2014-15, which is close enough. So... 5-6 years ago. )
  7. If he gets dealt, you’re talking about maybe 6 starts for his new team. Is the remainder of his contract worth picking up for maybe 6 starts? Perez might be the safer get for pitching-hungry teams. But I think he’s going to have to up his game to get anyone interested...
  8. Definitely not this year...
  9. Now maybe you can loot Houston with a Barnes/Workman package. Not sure what they would give up. Likely not Whitley or Tucker...
  10. I don’t think another GM takes Eovaldi at gunpoint. His contract and health history are not worth especially since there may be no postseason to go all in on this year. Perez? Maybe. His major selling point is that the Sox have no debate about in or out. But if any other team bails and makes SP available, he’s probably demoted to Plan B. I think the Sox move Barnes and Workman and no one else. Even two midseason trades is a lot..
  11. He might struggle all year. But 1) not like he’s going to keep the Sox out of the postseason all by himself, and 2) it does not mean he’s done....
  12. Most of those players are basically untradable or likely to draw little to no interest. Chavis should be worth something. JD might be but I’d be surprised...
  13. He did not pull a single well-hit ball. The few he did hit hard all went the other way or up the middle...
  14. Chicago White Sox rookie Luis Robert is off to an amazing start. Hitting .354/.425/.542 and leading the AL with 1.0 fWAR, just ahead of Aaron Judge (0.9 fWAR) and Carlos correa (0.9 fWAR). Will he or won't he become the third player in MLB history to take MVP and ROY in the same season?
  15. I'd add Benintendi to that list, especially since he has shown a willingness to sign cheap contracts. That's one skill that you need on every team...
  16. Unless he take three turns every time through the rotation, it’s not enough. See, the overt message in RYAN WEBER IS OUR #3 STARTING PITCHER is that Ryan Weber is pretty bad, and certainly not good enough for that role. The hidden message is “and yet he’s still better than two other starting pitchers in our rotation!!”
  17. The most interesting thing about that list is the Yankees also only have two prospects, and Deivi Garcia is not among them...
  18. Casas is 85...
  19. I think that’s the goal, assuming anyone is giving up good prospects. Also, Downs is NOT the only Sox prospect. See my next post..,
  20. Potential for what? Again - RYAN WEBER IS OUR #3 STARTING PITCHER.
  21. You had a good run..,
  22. If he can't, why would anyone want him in a trade?
  23. Hey if he goes on a tear, NL MVP is wide open this year...
  24. Oh I would say that. And as much as it would anger you, I also don't think we needed any Air Bud movies...
  25. We really didn't even need one Gallagher, let alone two...
