  1. Or deal for Price, who is looking a tad too expensive to have to fight for a spot in a crowded Dodger rotation...
  2. And DD for his off-season complacency...
  3. As long as it is someone like Ryan Weber, and not Ryan Weber. If I had to guess, I think that job falls currently on Matt Andriese....
  4. Yes that’s the Yankee Off-season Thread, where all the chronically injured players magically recover simultaneously, and using their combined pure hearts and good will, come together to form a giant cohesive unstoppable baseball team. Or am I thinking of Voltron?
  5. I don’t think he read it at all...
  6. The Sox played in the same number of World Series with Lynn as they did with Henderson. I get the point, but too many say “this is not a championship caliber team.” Which most times simply means “this roster does not match my narrow-minded interpretation of the only winning formula.” I just want a watchable team. This is my primary form of entertainment and damnit, it needs to be entertaining. That doesn’t mean it needs to be loaded with All Star talent at 8 positions and 3 rotation spots. It doesn’t mean it needs a Hall of Famer. But can I watch this team every night knowing they have a chance? Last year’s team was overmatched, and we all knew very early on. Some understood why. But how many think this team as it stands now can be entertaining (subjective, I know) through September? Or better yet, October?
  7. Why do people think Bradley is coming back when every single article about him says they’re not?
  8. Ozuna to Atlanta
  9. Wouldn’t that make it a $42.5 mill tax hit?
  10. That’s hardly a secret. As secrets go, it’s about as well known as Victoria’s...
  11. Bauer to the Dodgers. Schoop, much to moon’s chagrin, is staying in Detroit...
  12. I think he starts in Worcester, but someone will get hurt and he will get some MLB at-bats...
  13. Universal DH does raise the pay grade of 15 existing ones...
  14. Good to see the Sox are still active on this front. Although I have my suspicions it will not amount to much...
  15. The buzz on Odorizzi has dried up completely. What does a former All Star starting pitcher need to do to get some love?
  16. Hoping he calls enough RP to at least push Valdez down to Worcester and Brice into free agency...
  17. Nobody counts Chavis. I'm not sure he will even be on the roster come April. And Moreland and JD should never play the OF again...
  18. That's not much of a threat. If they do not hear in time, who are they going to move on to? If they say the deadline is 4pm today, and Bauer's agent calls them tomorrow or Sunday and says they have a deal, you can bet Bauer is headed to the Mets...
  19. The Ozuna market is heating up, and the only teams mentioned are the Rays and Braves. Yes, the Rays. Bloom -make some damn calls here!
  20. If they sign Moreland and another OF, they would have 5 players on the roster with OF experience, as they would have the new OF, Benintendi, Verdugo, Renfroe and Hernandez. That seems to be sufficient depth. If they sign Miller, he has played both corner OF spots, albeit unspectacularly...
  21. And Puig might be the most likely OF to join the Sox. He won't be expensive. He can play RF, and so far, unlike Bradley, is not demanding anything long term...
  22. I'd rather see Moreland come back, but I get the appeal of Brad Miller or Gonzalez. But to me, Marwin Gonzalez has never shown he ca be any sort of "bat" unless someone is swinging at a trash can...
  23. Well I was wrong about Travis Shaw for a couple years. Until he turned back into a pumpkin. Maybe Ockimey has a season or two of non-pumpkin baseball...
  24. Too late. Wrote him off. In ink...
  25. Bauer to the Dodgers now. Book it...
