  1. I know. And that guy was only averaging 98mph on his fastball and only for 8 innings. I mean 98mph seems fast. But not when you realize it’s only 44 meters/second. And if you can’t hit throwing 44, you dont belong in Little League, let alone MLB…
  2. Wong, Hamilton and Eaton are just bench players. Any replacement isnt likely to be an improvement. As of now, the Sox have the following starting pitchers who will all need a spot on the 40 man roster, at least until March: Crochet, Bello, Sandoval, Houck, Early, Tolle, Harrison, Fitts, Perales and Dobbins. Houck is out for 2026, and Dobbins likely until July. I’m assuming Giolito opts out. Criswell, I think, is out of options, so he likely makes the team but not the rotation. If it was up to me, I’d move Fitts, Tolle and Perales to the bullpen and package Harrison and Password for a SP. No names yet, but probably someone with a contract or arbitration price that some cheap ass team wants to move on from. I’ve been pushing for Fitts to go to the pen for 2 years, but history has taught me with Whitlock that I need to push for 3 years before the Sox listen. OF should be set. INF is up in the air, with only Story and Mayer most likely in the picture. Lowe will be non-tendered and Casas, well, he probably injured himself watching the game tonight. I think Bregman returns. But few else do. Im a Yoshida fan, but I think Breslow isnt. We’ll see what happens to him. And I like the idea of swapping Hicks (2 yrs $25mill) to Atlanta for Sean Murphy (3yrs $45 mill). I think Atlanta would, too, but if I’m being honest, I haven’t discussed it with them…
  3. And it will differ from the autopsies performed on the last two game threads?
  4. Two down. Three to go. I think the trade route is more likely. As I mentioned before, the Sox already have 10 starting pitchers lined up for the 40 man roster. Thats already a lot. But since most of them make little to no money, I could see a trade. Package one or two from Tolle, Early, Harrison, Fitts and Perales for an upgrade? Or maybe one of them plus the Password?
  5. If, say, Wong was coming up, maybe. But if he sends Eaton and the Yankees don’t throw it around, Eaton is dead at the plate. This isn’t the heavily fictionalized ending of Major League where Willy Mays Hays runs somewhere close to 45 mph. Thats faster than Usain Bolt on NOS…
  6. I’m fine with that. I’ve already thrown my good name behind one whiny bitch for next year. I can’t back them all…
  7. Think the Sox spring for any of Dylan Cease, Zac Gallen, Ranger Suarez, Michael King, or Framber Valdez? To me, those are the big free agent names. Of course the Sox do have some serious trade resources as well…
  8. I didn’t expect much last offseason. And for a while it looked like just Crochet and Chapman. But they did go big on Bregman…
  9. MVP mentioned the rumored names for Joe Ryan (who incidentally sucked after the deadline). If he is right, they were astronomical…
  10. The Sox have ten starting pitchers on their 40 man roster (counting injured folks) and won 89 games this year. But only one of them is any good?
  11. But Hudson had already thrown up his stop sign!!! When Hudson was stopping him, Chisholm still had the ball! At that point, he didn’t know Chisholm was going to throw or just hold on for a second. If Chisholm doesn’t try for Yoshida - hardly uncommon on that type of play - Eaton is DEAD at the plate. Hudson didnt have the luxury you have had of reviewing that replay multiple times to make a decision. He had a second, msybe less. And when he made it, he had no way of knowing what Chisholm was going to do. With Story coming up, I get why he held him and say it was the smart move…
  12. Was Hudson supposed to know Rice was going to drop the ball. SoxS4 posted the picture. Eaton was ON THIRD BASE while Chisholm was getting to his feet. Hudson has no way of knowing if Chisholm is even going to make a throw. If Chisholm does hold that ball like many infielders coming out of a dive, Eaton is 3 full seconds away from home. Plenty of time for Chisholm to nail him at the plate. Even if he pauses briefly to check his Instagram first….
  13. Give it a rest. Kyle Hudson made the right decision. And even if Eaton scores that run, who was going to pitch the extra innings for Boston? Bring back Eovaldi for another 7 IP?
  14. An argument could be made that Yoshida (.667 BA in this series) earned a bigger role after the September he had…
  15. They did very well for what they had. Not many other postseason teams are starting Romy Gonzalez three state postseason games…
  16. This is not on Cora. But some fans think every loss means someone needs to be blamed and probably fired. Certainly no credit to the opposing team. The Sox either win or gave the game away. No third option…
