  1. Mayer and/or Lawler are 5 years away from MLB. By then, both Bogie and Devers are likely in the rear view mirror and the competition is more likely someone like Matt Lugo or Nick Yorke…
  2. I’m sticking with Rocker at 4. Two reasons 1) I made my pick and I am (stubbornly?) standing by it. 2) In this top-heavy draft that’s 8-10 picks deep, surprises are inevitable. Especially from Bloom. Where did Callis have Nick Yorke going last year? Also, Davis at #1? I love it. Not buying it, but I do love the idea…
  3. Catchers can’t play 162 games anyway. Most teams just use their backup catcher for one particular starting pitcher because it keeps some consistency and it gives the regular catcher a regularly scheduled day free from squatting for 90 minutes…
  4. It looks like the Sox have replaced Benintendi with Christian Arroyo…
  5. No to mention being 5.5 games out of the wild card while trailing 5 teams for two slots. Insurmountable? No, but Yankees haven’t given any hint they’re capable of catching anyone. And how is Aaron Boone still there??
  6. It’s not like the Sox still have Jimmie Foxx at 1b…
  7. Yes, Danny Santana has proven himself to be the difference between winning a game 10-0 and winning a game 15-0…
  8. Safe bet he was the subject of a random test at some point. Also, Lee Haney is in his 60s. Not sure that’s a compliment;)
  9. Also leading MLB with 81 GIDP in 80 games…
  10. I’ve posted my top 4 numerous times in the past 6 weeks. And no matter what happens, I am NOT changing them, despite how questionable they have always looked. I had 1. Leiter 2. Lawler 3. Davis 4. Rocker Of course, now Marcelo Mayer, in an obvious attempt to discredit me, has come out with some underslot demands to increase his already lofty appeal. Too bad, Marcelo!! I’m NOT moving you up!! You can’t intimidate me!!
  11. As I didn’t watch SportsCenter last night, was yesterday the first time in MLB history where two teams put up 7 runs in the first inning and both lost? The Cubs also jumped out to a 7-0 lead on the Brewers after 1 and then gave up 15 unanswered runs…
  12. Possibly true. I’m just saying if he was using, I’d let him go back to it for safety reasons. Anyone who throws 105mph should be allowed to do everything possible to control that lethal object. Otherwise Yankee games could turn into a bloody version of Clue, but with less mystery. “It was Aroldis Chapman…. In Yankee Stadium …. With the fastball.”…
  13. Cordero’s limited playing time has been a combination of injuries and a lot of competition in a crowded San Diego outfield. Also, if Dalbec has promise, Cordero is only 9 months older. Franchy probably isn’t the answer at 1b, but the main reason the Sox might give him a try is simple - he’s already here…
  14. Worked ok for Jordan Walden and Carter Capps…
  15. If there is a pitcher who should be using stuff to get a better grip on the ball, it’s Chapman. The man could use his fastball to kill a water buffalo….
  16. Now watch Pittsburgh shock the world and draft Jud Fabian...
  17. Honestly, if it isn't one of the college arms, I'll be disheartened somewhat. But then I'll get over realizing Bloom knows more about doing this than me. Then I'll forget about who the Sox drafted altogether. Then I'll have some pie...
  18. So I wonder how many people thought that after 3 full months of baseball, roughly halfway through the season, the two best records in MLB would belong to the Giants and Red Sox?
  19. Except possibly the Cardinals, who actually hacked the Astros’ databases…
  20. Releasing Santana would also open a spot on the 40 man roster. This could be useful as July approaches.
  21. Not impressed with Adames’ .858 OPS since the trade? Franco had a great debut, but only has. .322 OPS since. In that same timeframe, Adames has a 1.200 OPS…
  22. After the first 3 games, many felt 70 wins was a stretch…
  23. Wander Franco has a higher ceiling than Willy Adames had. But which of those two is crushing right now and which one is struggling?
