  1. Well, I think we can safely assume that every player who has signed so far hasn’t gotten a bigger offer from another team…
  2. Wow. You almost met SBF. I always thought he was not a human but just some haywire AI program that was more into “artificial” than “intelligence.”
  3. Do you really think none of the 29 other teams were interested in either player?
  4. Refsnyder to starting 2b
  5. That show is really largely just SBF’s home movies…
  6. Well SBF probably voted for Mercury…
  7. No. None of that. We need more threads about politics. (Kidding in a major way.)
  8. The Chicago Bar Association might want a word with you…
  9. I think MLB rules prohibit the Sox (or any team) from picking up a player who has already signed with another club…
  10. Can I still wear my “Nader 2024” tee shirt?
  11. No. The question is - why don’t you appreciate a good player like IKF? He can field just about any position, including catcher. He has a terrific glove - including hardware to prove it - and a good arm. He has decent speed, but nowhere near elite speed, but he makes up for it y being a savvy base runner. He doesn’t in walk a lot and he rarely hits for power. Do the Yankees really need more walks and more power? Get IKF and bat him ninth. He’s like Taylor Wade but without the expendability. I would not mind seeing Bloom pursue IKF at all…
  12. It really makes sense from a business and a baseball standpoint. If Max Scherzer needs TJ surgery at some point next season, it would cost the Mets roughly $80mill. That’s more money than the entire payroll of the team that had the best record in the American League last year…
  13. So by her own statement about people, was Eleanor Roosevelt being small-minded?
  14. By his logic, no one else was in on Seager. So what was Texas thinking?
  15. Seriously? You accuse him of blindly liking everything Bloom does. And then when he actually does overtly question something, then you accuse him of not doubting it enough? Maybe he’s not the wishy-washy one…
  16. I think there is a lot of truth to that. The Dodgers went all in on Bauer, and now they’ll do anything short of a murder-for-hire scheme to get out of that deal…
  17. Hopefully non-existent…
  18. What about at $5mill? He hasn’t settled for anything yet…
  19. The rotation now has 8 options plus mid season depth in Paxton, assuming at least one of Houck/Whitlock join Sale, Eovaldi, Pivetta and Wacha. Seabold, Crawford and Winckowski are there early season depth. I’d prefer to bump both of Houck and Whitlock back into the pen, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. From the reliever market, maybe two from Archie Bradley, Mychal Givens, Oliver Drake or Wander Suero? And a 2b (no idea?) or a CF (even less of an idea?). I suppose a Duran in CF, Hernandez to 2b remains possible. Maybe the trade market, which will take a while if nothing happens today? Free agency has some mildly interesting names, but nothing that makes the ol’ coccyx rattle…
  20. So… two injury prone pitchers for the price of one?
  21. He’s also out until July/August. While he did check a few boxes, he’s a stretch drive addition and maybe a piece for 2023…
  22. So far, there have been a few couple mildly intriguing non-tenders, all relievers. The Braves non-tendering Richard Rodriguez should catch Bloom's attention. Wander Suero was pretty awful last year, but has actually been pretty good for the bulk of his career. Robert Gsellman had some promise, too, before getting hurt. Either one is probably worth taking a chance on to see if they can rebound. Suero seems like the better bet...
  23. So the only non-tender was Locastro? A first year arb player unlikely to make $1mill in arbitration?
  24. Cesar Hernandez to the Nationals. Sad
  25. He’s not really inactive. https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/baseball/mlb/player-news/headlines/10463431 IKF isn’t some big name, but he’s a very good all around player…
