Why not just send her to Mars? The shock value going from La Jolla to Baltimore might be a bit too much. You should have her transition her way there. Maybe start with 6 months in Topeka or Little Rock first…

Isn’t fielding in itself a skill? Just because a ball is hit directly at you doesn’t make it an automatic out. (Infield fly situations excepted.) And those analytics just place you in the best area, not where the ball will definitively be hit…

Pitch clock. Just use the one in the rulebook. Universal DH. Pitchers don’t take hitting seriously, and it does hurt the game. I don’t care about base size. Go wild here. I’m for the International Draft, as it would eliminate a lot (but not all) of the corruption around and exploitation of Dominican 13 and 14 year olds…

That’s the downside to the shift - it works. But it’s part of the game. And just because Freddie Freeman can’t adjust is no reason to ban it. The first year pitchers threw sliders, I bet hits went down on that pitch, too. Should MLB have banned the slider?

So the owners want an international draft badly and presented 3 options to the union. One of them “international draft and no more free agent compensation.” Another one was to set a date in the future and if an international draft could not be worked out, re-open the entire CBA. The players countered with a fourth option - basically a combo of these two. If we can’t work out whatever needs to be worked out for an international draft by a certain date, re-instate draft pick compensation. Sounds reasonable. The owners walked away without discussion. It’s like the owners realized the union was willing to work with them and decided that was just not acceptable…

I’d rather see the shift gone, too, but not due to a league wide regulation. Make it go away (or at least get used less) by defeating it. I know this doesn’t always work. NFL teams have been crushing the vaunted “prevent defense” for decades now and exploited it for probably hundreds of game-winning field goals. And you still see it. But maybe not as much. Maybe…

Pitch clock, yes. It’s been in the rule book for decades. Why not just enforce it? The shift is unpopular, but it’s just a defensive alignment. It’s a strategy. Are we going to keep banning strategies? Maybe baseball should ban the hit and run play as well? How about MLB also bans having corner infielders guard the lines late in games, too? And infielders “cheating” up the middle for double play depth? These players are also out of position! Ban those strategies!! Why end with just the shift?

No. The point was the worst players you can think are still closer to being Mike Trout than any of us ever were to them…

MLB seems to like to outlaw strategies and not obvious flaws. At least they finally decided allowing all 40 players on the active roster for one month really caused more problems than it solved…
