    Yes. He was in Boston from 80-82. Chuck Thompson moved to Oriole’s TV for the 1983 season and Miller was hired for the radio booth. He was there until sometime in the late 90s when he moved on to San Francisco.

    Radio’s going to do some fun things in the 4th and 5th. In the 4th, Wil Flemming is going to go over to the Giants booth to do an inning with his brother Dave. The two will move to the Boston booth for the 5th. Meanwhile, the legendary Jon Miller will join Lou Merloni. Some of us old timers can remember when Jon was in the Sox booth for a few years seasons more years ago then I want to think about.

    Sox with the right handed line-up. No Duran or Casas. Alexander is an opener and a one inning type guy. The expected bulk guy is a righty, so Duran will be in a soon as Refsnyder’s slot comes up again. I could see them holding Casas until later

    Actually, the Dodgers aren’t paying the last two months salary. At the time of the trade, Kike had roughly $3.6M remaining on his contract. The Sox sent $2.5M to the Dodgers as part of the deal; LA is picking up the balance of $1.1M. You are right though, he was always ready to play and that counts for something.
